10 days between land and cruise


Trip description

On board a sandals, traditional sailboats of the old conveyors of stone redesigned to preserve their authenticity and a certain scent of adventure. The pleasure of sailing on the Nile is immense, but a few small trips marvelously complete this cruise between Esna and Aswan (and the opposite direction): strolls through the villages and oases, incursions into the desert, and discovery of the pharaonic sites are on the menu.

Day 2 : The treasures of Museums

After breakfast, visit of the Cairo Museum, including the treasures discovered in Tutankhamun's tomb. In the afternoon, drive to the Guizeh plateau to admire the Sphinx and the three famous pyramids of Kheops, Kefren and Mykerinos.

Arrival, reception and transfer on the boat. Start navigation on the Nile to Luxor. In the evening, Sound and Light show in Karnak. 




Day 4 : Luxor (theban shore)

After breakfast, discover the Theban Necropolis on the west bank of the Nile. Visit of Tombs in the valley of the Kings and Queens and then discovery of the Funerary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari. In the afternoon, visit of the Valley of Nobles where the tomb of Ramosé lies. On the way back, stop in front of the two colossi of Memnon. Visit of the Temple of Luxor, located along the river, near the pier. Back to the boat and resumption of navigation towards {1}Esna{/1} and crossing the river lock. 




Day 5 : Edfou Aswan

Buffet breakfast on board. Transfer by horse-drawn carriages at the Temple of Edfou dedicated to God Horus. Guided tour of this temple, one of the best preserved of Egyptian temples. Return to the boat and navigation to Aswan.

After breakfast, transfer and visit of the Philae Temple, formerly covered by the waters of the Nile and now rebuilt "identically" on a small island which is accessed with small motor boats. Discovery of the High Dam and a granite quarry. In the evening, felucca ride around Elephantine Island

departure and excursion to Abu Simbel, by plane or by coach according to your choice. 




Day 8 : Kom Ombo/Esna



Visit of the Kom Ombo Temple, dedicated to the God Sobek. It is the only Egyptian temple built on an acropolis overlooking the curves of the Nile. Navigation to Esna and Egyptian evening on the boat. 




Day 9 : Esna/Luxor

At breakfast time, crossing the river lock then navigation to Luxor in a postcard landscape. Free time around the swimming pool on the deck of the boat. In the afternoon, visit of the Temple of Karnak, an impressive site extending over 600ha. "Son et Lumières" evening show in Karnak.




Day 10 : Domestic Flight Cairo/Luxor



Flight to Paris via Cairo or direct flight (according to the dates).
