Camel trekking and oasis of the Draa Valley...

Trip description

A trek in the Moroccan desert to discover the Draa Valley and the small oases from Mhamid.

To the south-east of Zagora, the Draa valley was the old track that led to Timbuktu; the large caravans of dromedaries came to stop there. Territory of the proud tribe of Aït Atta, the oases of Tagounit, Tiraf and Oulad Driss extend their green palm groves with, in the background, the Saharan expanses of dunes and immense plateaus. The appointment with our camel team is given to Imi Taqqat, then it is the start along the Draa, with the crossing of oases and Saharan immensities… The palm trees, the dunes, the bivouacs under the stars, the caravans of dromedaries and the discovery of the ancestral traditions of the tribe of Aït Atta are the perfect representations of the landscapes and the Saharan atmosphere… All this makes the charm of this camel ride.
