During these two weeks you will reach the most beautiful panoramas of Mongolia between Orkhon Falls and Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur Lake. An ideal tour if you visit Mongolia in the hottest months. You can taste the freshness of the Altai and avoid the stifling heat of the south.

Day 1 : First contact with Mongolia



Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, where the day can be spent on visiting the Gandan Monastery and one or two museums in the capital.

Departure for Kharkhorin (7 hours drive). The road gives a first glimpse of the Mongolian steppes.




Day 3 : Towards Orkhon Falls

Visit of the monastère d'Erdene Zuumost important and best preserved in the country. Arrival in the evening at Orkhon Falls.




Day 4 : Day in the Orkhon Gorge

Walks in the Gorges gorges and departure for Tsetserleg, the capital of the Amag Amag, where you can spend the night after visiting the museum and the monastery of the city.




Day 5 : Getting cool in the white lake

A long step in jeep makes it possible to reach the lake of Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur (White Lake), a volcanic lake renowned for its clear waters and surrounding landscapes.




Day 6 : Relax on the shore of the lake



A day of rest at the edge of the lake, which can be devoted to fishing, swimming or walks through the volcanic landscapes of this very beautiful site. Enjoy this relaxing day after long steps in cars!




Day 7 : On the way north

It will take two days by jeep to reach Mörön, the capital of the Amag of Khövsgöl. The road is long and difficult, but the landscapes are varied and it is possible, if you are in an individual car, to multiply at leisure the stops in nomadic families.




Day 8 : En route to the north (continued)



Depending on the choice of your step, this second part of the journey will be more or less long to arrive at Mörön.

Passage to Khatgal, the town on the south shore of Lake Khövsgöl, which can be an interesting step for those who wish to organize special activities along the lake.




Day 10 : Hiking around the "Blue Pearl of Mongolia"

The possibilities offered by the lake, known as the'Blue Pearl of Mongolia ', are innumerable. Hiking, trekking, mountain biking, canoeing... The length of the stay on the shores of the lake is according to the desires and can be extended for those who have time and want to get out of the beaten paths.

Try to alternate a day of discovery on the banks with a day on the water.




Day 12 : Hiking around the "Blue Pearl of Mongolia" (continued)



Let us devote the latter day to the discovery of local ethnic minorities, including the Tsaatan who live in reindeer husbandry.

After this breath of fresh air and wilderness, you can head southeast to Amarbayasgalant Monastery. The journey will take most of the day.




Day 14 : Visit of monastery

It is the second largest monastery in Mongolia. After his visit, return to Ulaanbaatar.

Enjoy this last stop in the capital for the last shopping, a visit to a last museum or the Bogd Khaan Palace. For those who are not fascinated by monasteries, the return from Lake Khövsgöl can be done by plane (departure from Mörön), which allows more time to explore the lake area.
