Trip description

This trip will allow you to discover Colombo, its region and part of the cultural aspect of the island in Kandy, Dambulla and Sigiriya. Then, direction the archipelago of the Maldives to rest on paradise beaches.

Arrival at Colombo airport, located about an hour and a half by car from the capital. Start your stay with a day in Negombo, 20 minutes from the airport. The beach is not extraordinary, but there is a wide choice of hotels.

Early visit to the picturesque fish market. Leave for Colombo by train or taxi at around 8:30 am, count from one hour to one and a half hours of driving depending on traffic. You can take a day tuk-tuk to visit the capital by determining the price in advance. You can stroll through the incredible maze of Pettah Bazaar's alleys. Take a walk under the Cargills arcades and around the Clock Tower President Houseand Clock Tower. At noon, you can have lunch in one of the restaurants of the Dutch Hospital, then head for the National Museum, which is well worth a two-hour visit for its masks and splendid Buddhist sculptures. At the end of the day, take a dip in the swimming pool of the Galle Face Hotel, the most beautiful colonial palace in the city where you can choose to dine facing the sea on a splendid terrace.




Day 3 : Kandy and the Tooth Temple

Leave Colombo for Kandy. By train, allow 2 hours 30 to 3 hours of travel, or 4 to 5 hours by bus or car. Visit of the temple of the Tooth. It will take you almost half a day to complete the tour.




Day 4 : Meeting the elephants



Departure in the morning for the elephant orphanage of Pinnawela. Go back to the Botanique botanical garden, the most beautiful of the Island.




Day 5 : Et and Sigiriya

Departure early in the morning for Cave's Cave Temple and Buddhist sculptures, and then Forteresse fortress. Take 4 to 5 hours to arrive at Sigiriya.




Day 6 : Relax...

Departure from Sigiriya and return to the capital. Take 6 hours of road. You can stay in Mount Lavinia, a pleasant seaside resort with many good restaurants on the beach.

Shop in Colombo and return to the airport. Departure for Maldives and Malé. Then transfer to your hotel island.




Day 8 : Idleness



Rest, tan and good book in the program!




Day 9 : Diving and water sports



Discovery of underwater funds or water sports in the program.
