Day 2 : Discovery of Bodø

Visit Bodø, a transit city where trains end their journey and boats leave for the Lofoten Islands. Having been almost completely destroyed during the Second World War, the city's animation is now based on its important university, and its jazz and rock festivals in summer. To visit: the Norsk Luftfartsmuseum (aviation museum), retracing the history and legends of the aviation world in a fun way. Take the ferry from Bodø to Moskenes, south of the Lofoten Islands. Allow about 3 hours and 15 minutes for the crossing.

Day 3 : Lofoten Islands

Take the E10 and go up Moskenesøy Island via Reine, renowned as Norway's most beautiful village, then Hamnøy and its heavenly fjord. Continue on Flakstad and its white sandy beach. Still following the E10, drive in the middle of the plains to Leknes, which will be the stopover for supplies (then flee, the village is of no interest!). On the island of Austvågøy, two routes are possible: the E10 across the land, or Route 815 along the coast. Once on the island, take a detour to Kalle for its rorbuer, its fjord, and its calm. Stop also in Kabelvåg, a small fishing village with a church in Vågan, built in the 19th century on the orders of King Øystein. Finally, join Svolvaer and take the road to Narvik.

Day 4 : Departure from Narvik to Tromsø

Following the road that crosses the fjords and lakes, we will take the opportunity to make a detour to Senja Island, which can be reached by a bridge from Finnsnes. Not often visited by tourists, it is perfect to get lost quietly among the fjords, marshes, white sandy beaches. Go to the tiny port of Hamn, see the Senjatrollet (the largest troll in the world)! Then get good walking shoes to walk in the Ånderdalen National Park. Continue on the road to Tromsø, the former whaling capital. Visit of the Tromsø Museum, retracing the history of the peoples of the North, and the Polar Museet, museum of hunting expeditions to the Far North from the end of the 18th century onwards.

Day 5 : On the way to Alta

Stop at Øksfjordjøkelen, about 90 km before Alta. Glacier peaking at more than 1,100 m, it unfortunately has its lower part reduced due to global warming. Possibility of a boat trip. 30 km south of Alta, you put on your walking shoes again to walk in the Alta canyon. Then reach Alta, the last town before the North Cape. If the city itself is not very interesting, we will stop at its museum, evoking the daily life of the Sami people through time. And when it is the season, you can also see the midnight sun from Komsa Hill.

Day 6 : Departure for the North Cape

When you arrive on the island of Magerøya, the island of the North Cape, you can make a last stop in Honningsvåg, a small village with a port full of tourist boats, or in Skarsvåg, a fishing village, before heading for the last few kilometres to reach the highest point.
