Trip description

Ten kilometres south of Corsica lies the sublime Sardinia, an Italian island renowned for its white sandy beaches and turquoise water. A long weekend, or even a week in Sardinia, will make it possible to make a good idea of all the riches of the territory while offering a few pleasant moments of relaxation, between beach and terrace and restaurant.

Once you arrive in Cagliari, pick up your rental vehicle at the airport. Visit of the historic district of Castello in the centre of Cagliari, the place of the island, with its cathedral, bastion and towers. Then direction the archaeological museum for a proper visit, followed by that of the mural. Dinner in one of the very good restaurants in the city centre.

This second day in Cagliari will be devoted to the visit of the park of San Michele and its superb castle. After lunch, visit Poetto Beach for afternoon relaxation.




Day 3 : Villasimius

Take the panoramic road on the coast of Quartu Sant'Elena towards Villasimius, providing a few stops to take photos. Once you reach Villasimius, explore the city centre and the port, before you head to the beach. Evening in the many restaurants and clubs of the city.

Before you reach Pula, about 40 km from Cagliari, make a gourmet stopover in the small fisherman village of Giorgino. Once in Pula, visit the Archaeological Museum, which houses important archaeological exhibits of the Punic and Roman civilizations in Sardinia. Near Pula you will find Nora and the ruins of the Roman city, as well as a beautiful beach. Last step of the day: Chia is 15 km from Pula. Here you will choose or for the beaches of Su Giudeu and Baia Chia, or for a walk to the Spanish Tower.




Day 5 : Islands of Sant'Antioco and San Pietro

Early wake up to take the hour of road which separates you from the island of Sant'Antioco, accessible by car. Visit of Sant'Antioco Island and Calasetta Harbour, then lunch on the spot. In the afternoon, take the boat towards the sponge town of Carloforte on the splendid island of San Pietro. Visit of the coasts and the city. Night on the island before resuming the road from Cagliari.
