It is impossible on a trip to Reunion Island not to discover the three circuses of Mafate, Cilaos and Salazie, to admire their tormented reliefs of valleys and peaks. It is here that the most beautiful hikes are made in enchanted forests combined with a sublime wilderness environment. From the lunar panorama to the burning volcano, from lava flows to white sandy beaches, Reunion Island's landscapes are as unique as your trip.

Night flight on regular airline. Arrival early in the morning, transfer to Saint-Denis and visit during the day

Direction the Salazie circus, the largest and most green of the island's circuses. You will take the time to admire one of the most beautiful waterfalls on the island, the Wedding Veil. Visit and installation in the village of Hell-Bourg, classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Discovery of traditional Creole huts and gardens in the heart of the region, and the Folio botanical museum.




Day 3 : In the Mafate circus



After breakfast, departure for a 4.5 hour hike through the canyons and waterfalls of the fantastic Mafate circus, accessible only on foot or by helicopter. This haven of peace and beauty was originally inhabited by escaped slaves, impossible to find here. Transfer to the Col des Boeufs, descent to La Nouvelle and then crossing rivers, canyon and waterfall that invite you to swim. Dinner and overnight stay in a gîte

For the 3 hours of hiking of the day, the beginning will be the crossing of the Tabit pass (2,082 m) which gives a breathtaking view of the upper part of the Mafate circus. We can already see the cirque of Cilaos surrounded by huge cliffs called "ramparts" whose peaks dominate the island: the Piton des Neiges (3,070 m), the Gros Morne (2,991 m) and the Grand Bénare (2,896 m). Rest then descent to the sunniest and driest of the three circuses, Cilaos (1,200 m)




Day 5 : Plaine des Cafres

Early departure for 4 hours of hiking to the Bras Rouge waterfall or the plateau des Chênes. Picnic lunch along the way then descent to the coast by local bus by the famous road cut into the cliff. Visit of the Saint-Pierre waterfront before going up to the high plateaus




Day 6 : The Piton de la Fournaise, the volcano that smokes

Transfer to the active volcano of the Piton de la Fournaise (2,632 m). Discovery off the beaten track of the three calderas: rivière des Remparts, plaine des Sables and the Fouqué enclosure, a 150-metre-deep calderra with the piton de la Fournaise in the centre. Picnic lunch along the way. You will walk around the craters through piles of more or less recent lava flows. Lunar landscapes




Day 7 : Beluga Forest

Start your 4-hour hike in the heart of the lush Bélouve rainforest. An astonishing endemic forest where ferns are cheerfully over two metres high. This very beautiful stroll will allow you to have a breathtaking view of the abyss of the Trou de Fer, a 300 m waterfall. Picnic lunch along the way. Return to the cottage at the end of the afternoon.




Day 8 : The Wild South



Direction the wild southern region to discover the lava flows, the Vacoa forests and the often raging sea breaking on the superb cliffs of solidified lava. Lunch along the way. Then transfer in the middle of the afternoon to the lagoon of Saint-Gilles.

Swimming in the lagoon where fish and multicoloured corals abound. Many possible activities such as: helicopter flight over the island, a cruise at sea or a visit to the craft market of Saint-Paul, a festival of perfumes and colours, the aquarium of the port, the ethno-botanical garden of Eden..




Day 10 : Shopping, hiking and departure



Day subject to air requirements. Shopping, free time and transfer to the airport. Back Paris
