This solidarity trip to Madagascar offers you an immersion in the Malagasy universe through numerous meetings with the local population and visits to various selected tourist sites. During this tailor-made stay, you are far from mass tourism, you live in the homes of local people or in sustainable and responsible accommodation and participate in village activities. Moments of observation of the endemic fauna and flora of Magascar also brings an added value to this stay. The end of this trip to Madagascar proposed on the island of Ste Marie calls for relaxation and contemplation.
This circuit offers you a trip off the beaten track, allowing you to support solidarity actions. It is intended for anyone wishing to travel differently in a spirit of responsible tourism.

Day 1 : Arrival in Madagascar

Day 2 : Antananarivo - Ambatomanga

This first step will take you to an economic and social development structure managed and created by a Malagasy couple to help the most destitute. Following this visit at the exit of the capital, you leave due East to discover the historical village of Ambatomanga. Wherever you are, the landscapes of Madagascar leave no traveller indifferent and give way to escape. A first day made of discoveries and encounters in the company of our local guide.

Day 3 : Ambatomanga

A day's walk in the charming countryside surrounding the village of Ambatomanga. Your local guide, masters its environment and adds his comments to this tour. During this walk, you exchange with craftsmen and farmers during your rural meetings and can better understand the difficulties that these farmers encounter daily. Evening focused on the Malagasy culture.

Day 4 : Ambatomanga - Andasibe

A first stop proposed in a private reserve, allows you to observe more closely: chameleons, butterflies and snakes. Then it is in the very heart of the village of Andasibe that your stopover will end, at one of our members who develop a rural and solidarity tourism. A first warm welcome to introduce you to the association and its actions but also the program of the next few days. This one is composed of multiple activities that we adapt according to the weather and the work in progress within these families.

Day 5 : Andasibe

In the morning, the visit of the Analamazoatra National Park allows you to observe the largest lemur of Madagascar as well as several other species without forgetting the chameleons and this exceptional flora. During the afternoon, you live the daily life of these families whose activities are mainly oriented towards agriculture and household chores: work in the fields, shopping at the market, cooking (exchange of recipes), roasting and grinding coffee. Lunches are in the company of your hosts and are made up of Malagasy dishes. Evening of traditional songs and dances.

Day 6 : Andasibe - Reserve

A last breakfast in the company of these peasant women before joining a private reserve managed by an NGO focused on environmental protection. This site is located at the edge of a protected forest full of natural riches: 12 species of lemurs, chameleons and birds cohabit in the middle of many varieties of orchids (79 different species!) and palm trees. It is a free afternoon that we propose to you in order to benefit as well as possible from the site. Here the local communities carry out many actions to preserve the biodiversity of this forest which offers exceptional landscapes. At nightfall, a small accompanied naturalist walk is proposed on the edge of the forest.

Day 7 : Reserve

In the morning, you go to meet the villagers and the spiritual representative of these souls. Exchanges and sharing on their way of life, their agricultural crops and the methods of building houses before sharing lunch at the inhabitant's home. Then, it is the turn of this beautiful forest to show you all its secrets during a discovery walk accompanied by a guide of the NGO.

Day 8 : Reserve - Canal des Pangalanes

You leave the reserve and join the village of Manambato after having taken the RN 2 and the 7 kms of track joining the Rasoabe lake where your boat is waiting for you. Then, navigate between lakes and the Pangalanes canal in a peaceful atmosphere suitable for contemplation. At your arrival, a visit of a fishing village is proposed to you before joining your local ecolodge created by a Malagasy couple in an exotic atmosphere.

Day 9 : Pangalanes Canal

A boat trip along the Pangalanes Canal is the start of your morning. Then a visit of a village located on the heights of the canal in the company of your local guide. (Coffee trees, fruit trees and rice fields). Lunch will be taken at your host's house after your return. In the afternoon, the meeting with the women artisans of the village will take you in search of their raw materials before taking part in a basketry workshop and the making of fish pots.

Day 10 : Pangalanes Canal - Mahambo

Watching the fishermen depart on the Indian Ocean by pirogue remains an emotionally strong moment, especially in winter due to the power of the waves. Then, after breakfast, you embark to enjoy your last hours of navigation on the Canal des Pangalanes leading you to a small local port located 30km from the city of Tamatave where you have lunch. 03h30 drive are necessary to reach the charming fishing village of Mahambo where you stay. The bed and breakfast in which you are welcomed gives the impression to our travellers, to be for a moment on Reunion Island. The lagoon located at a short distance knows how to offer you wonderful sunsets.

Day 11 : Mahambo - Ste Marie Island

The first hours of the day are free and allow you to swim in the lagoon before boarding the boat to Ste Marie Island. On arrival at your destination, a transfer by vehicle will take you to your ecolodge. You will be greeted with a welcome drink in front of the lagoon. The decor is set, all you have to do is dream.

Day 12 : Sainte Marie Island

The next two days are proposed with free activities so that you can enjoy at your ease this beautiful island of Sainte Marie and its surroundings: paradisiacal beaches, snorkeling, traditional pirogue, Ile aux Nattes, mountain biking, hiking, natural pools, humpback whale watching (from June to the end of September).

Free activities as on the previous day: paradisiacal beaches, snorkeling, traditional pirogue, Ile aux Nattes, mountain bike rides, hiking, natural pools, humpback whale watching (from June to the end of September).

Day 14 : Sainte Marie Island - Antananarivo

Take-off times from Sainte Marie may vary. Consequently, it is on your arrival in Antananarivo that your program of the day will depend but also on your check-in time for your international.
