Trip description

This longer stay takes over the beginning of the short stay and deepens the exploration of Rotterdam and leaves even to discover the South Holland with the visit of Delft and the Hague.

Day 1 : Historic Rotterdam and Splash Tour

The morning will be devoted to a visit to the historic district of Delfshaven, which will take you back in time and show Rotterdam through time. Lunch will be served at Rotown, a landmark establishment in the city where concerts are often held. In the afternoon, the visitor will do a "Splash tour", a visit in an amphibious bus that sails on the Meuse and passes by the Rotterdam liner. Then, it will be time to go shopping by visiting the famous Witte de Withstraat and Van Oldenbarneveltstraat arteries, which are full of original and quality addresses. The evening meal will be served at the Dertien restaurant, an excellent address that moves the city's culinary scene. The evening will eventually continue in a discotheque in the centre (Club Vibe), at the Bar or at Annabel's.




Day 2 : The different museums of the city

Start the day with a visit to the Boijmans van Beuningen museum or the Kunsthal depending on the programme, lunch will be taken on site. Then walk to the Kop Van Zuid district and visit the Photography Museum in the former naval workshops of the Las Palmas building. Enjoy a high tea at the New York Hotel. Take a water taxi to the old port (Oude Haven). Have a cocktail at Het Witte huis or Noah and then eat at Mooii restaurant. Continue the evening in the Witte de With district and visit Tiki's for a unique atmosphere.




Day 3 : Boat trip

The morning will be devoted to a Spido Tour, a boat trip that will take you under the Erasmus Bridge and along the city's major attractions. Lunch will be taken at the Zenne restaurant in the maritime district - the "larger" budgets will choose the restaurant of the Wereldmuseum. The afternoon will be devoted to a visit to the Wereldmuseum (Ethnography Museum) and will end with a full-bodied aperitif at Café Dudok.




Day 4 : Day at the Zoo

The morning will be devoted to a visit to Rotterdam Zoo, Blijdorp. This zoo combines a historical part with a modernised part, including a famous oceanium, a magnificent shark tunnel and an incredible butterfly greenhouse. The meal will be taken on site in the cafeteria near the new entrance for example. The afternoon will be used to visit theNatuurhistorisch Museum, le musée d'Histoire naturelle. The evening meal will be served in the maritime district, for example at the Zeezout restaurant, renowned for its fish and seafood.




Day 5 : Escapade to The Hague



Discover The Hague, the morning will be used to discover the city during a walk orchestrated by Tot Zo, a company specializing in quality excursions supervised by city specialists. You will have to stop by the Hotel des Indes, at least to drink a cup of tea or to have lunch and admire the splendid decor as seen by Jacques Garcia. In the afternoon, we will visit the Mauritshuis museum, which reopened a few years ago and boasts the largest number of Vermeers, including La Vue de Delft and La Jeune Fille à la perle. You can also visit the Mesdag Collectie, a very interesting museum, created by painter and collector Hendrik Mesdag, which includes the largest collection in Barbizon outside France; you can stroll through the very pleasant garden and admire the Mesdag panorama to admire an incredible work representing the port of Scheveningen. The rest of the day will be spent shopping in this very pleasant city. It will be necessary to visit the Hofkwartier and the street not to be missed is the Denneweg. The evening meal can be taken at Maxime's, an excellent address on the Denneweg.




Day 6 : Pretty town of Delft



This day will allow you to meet Delft, perhaps the most beautiful city in the Netherlands. You will have to stroll through the centre, admire the historic facades and eat in the superb De Waag café-restaurant. In the afternoon, there will be time to visit the royal earthenware factory in Delft. The evening meal will be taken at Vieux Jean's, a very good address.




Day 7 : Last day in Rotterdam

The morning will mark the return to Rotterdam with a visit to the Euromast and its superb panoramic view of Rotterdam and its surroundings. Lunch can be taken on site or at the Harbour Club, a seafood and fish restaurant in an exceptional setting. In the afternoon, you can visit the Kunsthal or the Boijmans van Beuningen depending on the choice made at the beginning of your stay. At the end of the day, join the Hofbogen district (old station and new centre of the hype with shops and restaurants), eat at De Jong, the restaurant of a gifted young chef who will make you discover vegetables like never before or at François Geurds with 2 (starred) establishments in the district.
