Seaside stay in the Dominican Republic

The star of the tropical beaches west of Santo Domingo is Bahía de las Aguilas, the most beautiful of all. But, between Pedernales and Barahona, there are plenty of options to find an authentic sandbar lost in the wild beauty of the area. Among the least touristic spots in the country...

Day 2 : Boca Chica

1 hour east of Santo Domingo, Boca Chica offers to taste seafood before diving into the turquoise waters of the natural pools. It is not the sexiest beach on the island, but it is easy to stop there on the way to Bayahibe.

Day 3 : Bayahibe and Isla Saona

Bayahibe is really the dream beach with small coves with translucent waters everywhere. And it is the starting point to discover the pearl of the Caribbean coast and the pride of the Dominicans, the Saona Island. It is part of the Este National Park, and its fauna and flora are protected

Day 4 : Playa Bavaro

Day4 : Playa Bavaro ©Author's Image

Past Punta Cana and its resorts, towards Playa Bavaro, an essential stopover during your cruise in the Caribbean. The long beach, lined with coconut trees, is punctuated by small craft markets, bars and restaurants. And the nearby tourist village of Cortecito is the place that has the most soul in this area.

Day 5 : Samaná Peninsula and Las Terrenas

Las Terrenas's main attraction lies in the tens of kilometres of white sandy beaches, bathed by water with turquoise reflections at ideal temperature and protected by a coral reef. Offshore, the whales of the Whale are the horizon. And you will not be lost because 10% of the population is made up of French expatriates.

Day 6 : Las Galeras Las

Here the time stops, simplicity invades the traveller, and it makes a stop, which is sometimes prolonged, so we feel good in Las Galeras. A small community of foreigners animates local tourism. The many beaches in the area are among the most fabulous in the country. Your sole concern will be to choose one.

Day 7 : Cabarete

The Mecca of kitesurfing obviously has its heavenly beach and makes it an obligatory stopover during a seaside holiday in the Dominican Republic. Be careful with kitesurfers during the rush hour in the early afternoon!
