So, in three weeks of travel, you can visit the monumental ensembles of the Silk Road cities, go back on camel's back for a méharée in the desert, taste the freshness of small mountain villages, take treks in the same mountains by day. As many activities as a local agency can put in place for you as part of a tailor-made trip according to your tastes and budget.The standard of living is of course higher in Tashkent than in the rest of the country, but that consideration remains relative. A night in a luxury room of a large hotel and meals in a good restaurant require a budget of 150 to 200 USD per day for two people.Staying in a tourist setting, with small hotels or B & B accommodation and meals in traditional restaurants, the budget remains roughly the same as in other cities in the country. You can eat in the evening for less than US $ 5, go to Opera for US $ 2, cross the city by taxi for US $ 3, and food on bazaar is hardly more expensive than elsewhere.Local rates and tourist ratesAs in all the countries of the former USSR, there are still two separate tariffs: one applies to the Uzbeks, the other to tourists. In the Soviet era, it was alleged that foreign visitors, enjoying a higher standard of living, participated in the restoration of monuments and the improvement of tourist infrastructure. Today, some Soviet hotels and museums always display this double rate. In tourist hotels and B & B, drivers sometimes sleep for ten times less than you. And even shared taxi drivers are able to claim 10 000 hospitals to an Uzbek for this journey and, for strictly the same journey, 50% more to a tourist even though he knows very well that the latter has heard him announce a lower price before. You can see if you bend to the "custom" where if you want to undertake the arduous task of negotiating the same rates as Uzbeks.FormalitésFrench nationals no longer need an invitation to visit Uzbekistan. The visa is issued by the Consulate of Uzbekistan in Paris, eight days after the filing of the application. The form is available on the Embassy's website.The Uzbek Consulate applies an e-visa procedure. You must complete the application on the Internet via the Embassy site and print your receipt before depositing it with your passport and regulations at the consulate. Without this receipt online, your file will not be processed and you will be left to find an Internet café in the vicinity of the consulate.The cost of the visa is relatively high: € 60 for one week, € 70 for 15 days, € 80 for one month and € 100 for three months. Rates valid for one entry, each additional entry cost € 10. The agreement, which has passed between the republics of Central Asia and entitles tourists in possession of the visa of one of them to stay 72 hours in others, is no longer valid. Specific visas or transit visas must be requested from the embassies concerned in Paris or Tashkent and have a sufficient number of entries to return to the first country thereafter.Return of currencies at entry and exit. At the customs time, upon arrival, you will have to complete a reporting form concerning the currencies you bring to the country. This statement must be made in two copies.You will keep one that will be asked at the exit of the country and compared, obviously, with the declaration of exit that you will not forget to fill before ironing the customs in the other direction... The amount declared at the exit must in no way exceed the amount declared at the entrance.Registration of visitors. Hotels will systematically give you a record paper indicating your arrival and departure dates. You will have to keep them carefully with you in case they are requested from customs when you return.Medical prescriptions. If you are travelling with specific medications and treatments, beyond the Doliprane and other Large which display all the usual traveller's kits, it is strongly recommended that you be able to present the orders (or copies thereof) in order to certify that they have been duly prescribed by your doctor.
