In 10 days, no time to hang out! For this itinerary of discovery of the country's "classics", we recommend that you reach the various sites by plane or take night buses (quite comfortable). This itinerary will delight backbackers and lovers of majestic ancient sites.

Day 1: Yangon

Day 3: Mingun - Mandalay

Day 4: Mandalay - Bagan

Day 1 : Yangon



Upon arrival at Yangon Airport: head to the many Buddhist pagodas, Victorian-style houses and other exotic gardens

Departure the evening before or early flight to Mandalay where the traditions of the country are perpetuated. On the old bridge of U Bein is proudly unveiled the very monastic Amarapura. Sculptors, weavers, dressmakers and cheerleaders rock the daily life of this ancient kingdom. The picturesque Ava site leads to the summit of Sagaing, offering a wonderful panorama.




Day 3 : Mingun - Mandalay

Capital of excess with its immense pagoda and its gigantic 90-ton bell, Mingun offers the opportunity for a short navigation on the Irrawaddy. Back in Mandalay, visit the famous and peaceful Mahamuni Pagoda and the carved wooden monastery of Shwenandaw Kyaung. Passing a few gold leaf factories, we then discover the famous "Mandalay Hill" at the mystical hour of dusk.

Descent by boat from the mythical river Irrawaddy to reach Bagan, or alternatively by bus (much cheaper). The Shwezigon Pagoda is unveiled to announce the arrival at Bagan, emblematic site of the country.

Access to the site through the large Tharaba gate before reaching Nyaung Oo and the highly respected Shwezigon. Visit of the temples: Manuha, Nanbaya, Bupaya and the Mingala stupa which evoke the splendour of Bagan. At sunset, the splendid Ananda reveals its magic.

A semi desert landscape dotted with palm trees. The life of the Burmese countryside away before arriving at the foot of the Cantabrian mount, the true rocky spur of a monastery. A splendid panorama is offered to those who climb it.




Day 7 : Mount Popa - Kalaw



In the heart of the mountains of the Shan country, we will see exotic landscapes and especially the traditions of the Palaung, Pa O and Danu ethnic groups. Burnt crops. Arrival in Kalaw, a former colonial resort.

Amazing lake country from Ywama to Phaung Daw Oo. A floating world of inthas, with its gardens and monasteries on stilts such as Nga Phe Kyaung, the monastery of "jumping cats". Nyaung Shwe walk, floating gardens, Phaung Daw Oo pagoda, In Dein site, boat rides. Overnight at the lake. Night trip to Mandalay.




Day 9 : Inle - Yangon



Boat return to the embarcadère and dernières on the banks of the canal before joining Heho airport to get to Yangon.

Yangon with a more familiar eye, on the esplanade of the Shwedagon and its pagoda, in the alleys of the Bogyoke market or in the busy alleys of the city centre.
