You feel like you know New York without ever having set foot there. It must be said that the city occupies the news but also the large screen. New York has always fascinated the fimmakers. When it is not destroyed (Independence Day, the Day After, Cloverfield), the directors film the Big Apple from all angles.

On September 15, 1954, hundreds of photographers were invited to visit the corner of 52nd Street and Lexington. The director of seven years of reflection, was preparing to shoot one of the most famous scenes of cinema: Marilyn Monroe, walking in the streets of New York surprised by the passage on a subway entrance that lifted her white dress. The director, Billy Wilder, had the scene renewed several times, causing the wrath of the boyfriend at that time of Marilyn, the baseball player Joe DiMaggio. Two weeks later, the two stars were separated.Midtown East still, just south of Central Park to walk in the footsteps of another fashion and movie star Audrey Hepburn. It was in front of the Tiffany & Co. shop, at the intersection of 57th Street and 5th Avenue that several outdoor scenes of Breakfast at Tiffany's with Audrey Hepburn, coffee in hand, admiring the shop windows of the shop. Tiffany & Co. hasn't moved since the shooting, in 1961.

Harlem East, in the footsteps of one of the most emblematic films on New York, West Side Story. The two rival gangs, Sharks and Jets compete at the beginning of the film, and in the final scene on the school's playground located on 110th street, between 1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue. Several scenes were filmed on this block, and you will recognize the beautiful brick buildings with their fire escapes. Only cars parked in front have changed. Harlem Est is a neighborhood to discover because it has, as a whole, can be changed in terms of architecture.




Day 3 : New York Public Library

New York Public Library, this iconic place in New York is a very present in many movies where the characters have research work to do. The library can be found in the Thomas Crown Affair, Spider-Man, or Sex and the City: The Movie. It's also here that the survivors of the Day after, not without burning some books to warm up.




Day 4 : TriBeCa



TriBeCa has the most famous fire station in New York! It's right behind the doors of the 14N barracks. Moore Street was the Ghostbusters FireHouse! Who knows, Bill Murray may still hide some aliens in this place!




Day 5 : Times Square

Times Square was the scene of a photo of a very famous movie star, a symbol of New York at the Time. If the picture is not from a movie, you see the actor James Dean in the rain, wearing a trenchcoat, with a cigarette in his mouth. This photo was taken in 1955 by Dennis Stock during the filming of Rebel without a cause on 7th Avenue between 43rd and 44th Street.
