Trip description

The north attracts far fewer tourists, and that is probably why we prefer it! It will seduce all lovers of lonely, history-based, pre-Columbian and natural sites. Here too you will find the three atmospheres: Pacific coast (fairly desert), Cordillera of the Andes (and its high peaks) and Amazon (tropical climate).

Arrival in Lima.




Day 2 : Visit of Lima



Visit of the capital (colonial centre, modern centre, museums).




Day 3 : The white cordillera



Bus to Huaraz, in the white cordillera. Attention to altitude sickness!




Day 4 : Archeological site Chavin de Huantar



One day excursion to the Huantar Chavin site. Sumptuous landscapes.




Day 5 : Lagoon and mountains



Visit of Llanganuco Lagoon and the villages of Carhuaz and Yungay.




Day 6 : The magnificent canyon del Pato

Bus to Trujillo via the spectacular canyon del Pato.




Day 7 : In the Moche Valley

Visit of the Huaca Arco Iris (chimu temple), sun and moon pyramids, as well as the magnificent site of Chan Chan. Dinner on the Pacific coast (Huanchaco fishing port).




Day 8 : Visit to the historic center of Trujillo

Visit of Trujillo colonial center in the morning, then bus in the afternoon to Chiclayo. Night possible in the charming lodge of Tucume.




Day 9 : Túcume and the Valley of Pyramids



Visit of the archeological site of Tucume and the Sipan Museum. Night in Tucume or Chiclayo.




Day 10 : Northern Treasures

Visit of the National Museum of Sican (archeological pieces) and the Pomac bosch, bus in the afternoon to Cajamarca.




Day 11 : Visit by Cajamarca



Visit of the city (magnificent colonial remains), then windows of the Otuzco (pre-Columbian necropolis), as well as the famous thermal baths (Baños del Inca).




Day 12 : Through the Cordillera



Bus to Chachapoyas. A company connects the two cities through Leymebamba. It's very panoramic road. Can sleep in Tingo, below the Kuélap site.




Day 13 : The Mythical Fortress of the Chachapoyas

Visit the mysterious ruins of Kuélap. Afternoon to wander in the peaceful Chachapoyas.




Day 14 : Cape to the Amazon



Bus to Tarapoto; possible to descend to Moyobamba and discover the renacal forest of Tingana all day long. 2 hours separate Moyobamba from Tarapoto.




Day 15 : From lake to lake



Excursion to Laguna Azul or one day in Lago Lindo. Swimming possible.




Day 16 : Falls from Ahuashiyacu

In the morning, visit the waterfalls of Ahuashiyacu and the village of Lamas, then plane for Lima.




Day 17 : The time of return rang



Departure to your country of origin.
