  Arrival in Mexico – Playa del Carmen

  

  Arrival on an international flight at Cancún airport and meeting with our representative. Transfer to the hotel in Playa del Carmen, with overnight stay for the first night. Overnight stay.

  Playa del Carmen – Tulum – Bacalar – Chetumal

  

  

  Breakfast at the hotel and subsequent meeting with our guide to start the Mundo Maya circuit. Departure for the archaeological site of Tulum, the only complex built by the Maya directly on the sea. Guided visit, during which our guide will introduce the Maya civilization in Mexico. From the top of the ruins you can enjoy one of the most exciting views of the Caribbean Sea. Continuation towards the splendid Bacalar Lagoon, the second largest lake in Mexico, which we will visit with a wonderful boat tour. It is also known as “the lagoon of the 7 colors”, for the different shades of blue and green that it takes on depending on the depth. Subsequently, we will continue towards the city of Chetumal, capital of the State of Quintana Roo, with accommodation in a hotel in the center. Free evening and overnight stay

  Chetumal– Kohunlich – Becan – Chicanna

  

  Breakfast and guided tour of the Museum of Maya Culture in Chetumal, rich in artifacts found by archaeologists during research and studies on Maya sites in the Yucatán. Afterwards, we will continue along the border between Mexico and Belize towards Kohunlich, one of the less touristy sites in the Yucatán, where it will be possible to admire stucco masks in bas-relief up to 2 meters high. Visit to the site of Becan, capital of the ancient Río Bec area, where one of the sacrificial altars dedicated to the god Kukulkan is located, represented as a feathered serpent. Next, we will continue towards the Chicanna area, with accommodation in an eco-friendly hotel. Free time and overnight stay.

  Chicanna – Calakmul – Campeche

  

  Early breakfast in the morning and departure for the most adventurous visit of the entire circuit, to the site of the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve, completely immersed in the tropical forest of the Petén region, which extends as far as Guatemala. In the reserve live about 100 species of mammals, including some felines such as pumas and jaguars, as well as howler monkeys and various species of birds. Subsequently we will continue towards Campeche, the capital of the state of the same name.

  Campeche – Uxmal – Mérida

  

  Breakfast at the hotel and departure towards the renowned “Ruta Puuc”, in the Mayan language “Country of the Hills”, where the archaeological site of Uxmal is located, characterized by the Puuc architecture of the same name, considered one of the most harmonious and well-proportioned in the Mayan world. The emblem of this style is the Rain God Chac, represented in the relief columns and with numerous masks, considered at the time a deity to be constantly venerated, given the scarcity of rain and watercourses in the area. Next, continuation towards the capital of Yucatán, Mérida, also called “Ciudad Blanca”. Accommodation at the hotel and subsequent guided tour of the city, with a walk in the historic center and a visit to Plaza Mayor and the Casa de Montejo. Despite being a modern city, Mérida manages to preserve the charm of the colonial center, with buildings, churches and theaters in Hispanic and French style. Free evening and overnight stay

  Chichen Itza – Riviera Maya

  Breakfast at the hotel and departure towards the archaeological site that symbolizes the Maya civilization in the Yucatán Peninsula: Chichén Itzá, the best known in the world and considered one of the 7 wonders. The site is divided into 3 groups (Central, North and South) and the visit includes the famous Castillo, a pyramid erected in honor of the god Kukulkán, the circular-plan astrological observatory, the Temple of the Warriors and the “Ball Game” court, a curious religious-type match played with elbows, hips and knees. Subsequently, continuation towards the Riviera Maya, with a stop in the Maya village of Chemax. Accommodation in the selected hotel and conclusion of the tour
