My trip to Argentina with a local agency

Every year, we love to discover a new destination, and after having traveled quite a bit in Asia, we had planned a family trip to Argentina. We wanted to go to Argentina with a local agency to be as close as possible to the country's culture, but also to delegate all the logistics.

You went to Argentina with a local agency, what did you like best?

We chose Argentina because it was an opportunity to discover a new country, but also to get together as a family, as two members of our family live in Colombia. Argentina is a huge country, so we decided to explore the northern part and save the south, Patagonia, for a future trip. We were simply dazzled by so much beauty and color in the landscapes. However, it's really hard for me to tell you what we liked best, as we enjoyed every day of our trip.

Iguazu

At the border of Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay, the falls are rightly listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. An exceptional natural site where you walk among 275 waterfalls, including the impressive Devil's Throat. The trails wind through the jungle and allowed us to spot small wild animals like adorable coatis, monkeys, toucans, caimans, and all kinds of butterflies. It was incredible! So exotic!

The Andes Cordillera

The mythical mountain range transported us to a whole different world. Once again, we were impressed by the beauty of the landscapes, whether passing through the small town of Uspallata in the Mendoza region, near the Chilean border. The region is known for its desert mountains like Cerro Siete. Since we had rented a car, we ventured a bit further into the mountains and finally found ourselves facing the roof of the Andes, Aconcagua, which rises to almost 7000 m! What immensity!

The Quebrada de Humahuaca

We then headed northwest, towards Bolivia. There, we stopped in the charming little town of Jujuy and were able to discover the Quechua villages and their culture. In the south of the valley, the multicolored rocky slopes of the famous Cerro de los Siete Colores dominate the Spanish colonial village of Purmamarca.

The Salinas Grandes salt desert

At 3350 m altitude, the Salar offers a surreal landscape formed of white salt diamonds as far as the eye can see. We lose our bearings and perspective disappears... An extraordinary sight.

How do you choose your trips?

For a few years now, we have gotten used to traveling with local agencies. This allows us to save time in preparing the trip and to be sure not to miss any points of interest. Our choice of destinations varies according to our desires and the activities we want to do during our holidays. Big fans of diving, we have traveled a lot in Asia. Today, we alternate our trips between "diving" destinations and more "cultural discovery" destinations.

For our trip to Argentina, we were in contact with two local agencies with whom we had been put in touch via the Quotatrip.com website. They made proposals adapted to our wishes. The choice was difficult because both were very professional with well-made proposals. But going to Argentina with a local agency was really the best choice!

What are your next travel plans?

There are so many countries we would like to discover! But I think the next one on our list will be Borneo, a destination that attracts us for its marine life, especially the island of Sipadan. Very far from Argentina!
