My trip to Argentina with a local agency

Every year, we love to explore a new destination, and after having traveled quite a bit around Asia, we planned a family trip to Argentina. We wanted to go to Argentina with a local agency to be as close as possible to the country's culture, but also to delegate all the logistical aspects.

You traveled to Argentina with a local agency, what did you prefer?

We chose Argentina because it was an opportunity to discover a new country, but also to reunite with family, as two of our family members live in Colombia. Argentina is an immense country, so we decided to explore the northern part and reserve the south, Patagonia, for a future trip. We were simply dazzled by so much beauty and color in the landscapes. However, it's quite difficult for me to tell you what we preferred since we enjoyed every single day of our trip.

Iguazu

At the border of Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay, the falls are rightly listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. An exceptional natural site where one can walk amidst 275 waterfalls including the impressive Devil's Throat. The trails wind through the jungle and allowed us to spot small wild animals like adorable coatis, monkeys, toucans, caimans, and even butterflies of all kinds. It was incredible! So exotic!

The Andes Cordillera

The mythical mountain range transported us into a whole different universe. Once again, we were impressed by the beauty of the landscapes, whether passing through the small town of Uspallata in the Mendoza region, near the Chilean border. The region is known for its desert mountains like Cerro Siete. As we had rented a car, we ventured further into the mountains until we finally found ourselves facing the roof of the Andes, Aconcagua, which peaks at almost 7000 m! What immensity!

The Quebrada de Humahuaca,

We then headed north-west towards Bolivia. There we stopped in the charming little town of Jujuy and were able to discover Quechua villages and their culture. In the southern part of the valley, the multicolored rock slopes of the famous Cerro de los Siete Colores dominate the Spanish colonial village of Purmamarca.

The Salinas Grandes salt desert,

At an altitude of 3350 m, the Salar offers a surreal landscape formed of white salt rhombuses as far as the eye can see. We lose our bearings and perspective disappears... an extraordinary spectacle.

How do you choose your trips?

For several years now we have gotten into the habit of traveling with local agencies. This allows us to save time in planning the trip and be sure not to miss any points of interest. Our choice of destinations varies depending on our desires and activities we want to engage in during our vacations. Being big fans of diving, we have traveled extensively through Asia. Today, we alternate our trips between "diving" destinations and "cultural discovery" destinations.

For our trip to Argentina, we were in contact with two local agencies with whom we were put in touch via Quotatrip.com. They made proposals tailored to our wishes. The choice was difficult because both were very professional with well-made proposals. But traveling to Argentina with a local agency really was the best choice!

What are your next travel plans?

There are so many countries we would like to explore! But I think that next on our list will be Borneo. A destination that attracts us for its marine life, especially Sipadan Island. Very far from Argentina!
