Hawaii

Since the 15th century, surfing has become a common practice in the Hawaiian islands. That’s why Hawaii is an unmissable destination for surfing!

Between November and February, the north coasts are the ideal places, with big waves. The Oahu coast is a legendary spot, with its beautiful beaches such as Waimea Bay, Sunset Beach, and Banzai Pipeline.

You can also attend one of the biggest surf competitions in the world: the “Vans Triple Crown of Surfing”, which usually takes place in November – December.

Australia

It’s hard not to mention Australia when talking about surfing, the national sport of this country. It’s a must here, and a way of life for Australians.

The beaches in the north are the best spots for your surf sessions!

Bondi Beach, which attracts many visitors from all over the world, is an ideal place to surf with rentals and lessons available on site. Manly Beach is the famous beach to discover surf culture.

United States

California is also a little surfing paradise.

For those experienced in this field, Mavericks beach needs no introduction, known for having hosted one of the biggest and most dangerous waves in the world. It also hosts every winter the biggest “Big Wave Surfing” competition with waves up to 20 meters.

Rincon Beach, this internationally known beach, is a flagship place for surfing. It offers a magnificent landscape and ideal conditions.

Another iconic place is of course Huntington Beach, also called “Surf City”. Its atmosphere and conditions are perfect for surfing. You’ll find the surf museum, a bronze surfer statue, and also the “Surfing Walk of Fame” where you’ll find the great names of surfing.

Sri Lanka

Between turtles and coconut trees, Hiriketiya Beach is a dream spot for beginner surfers. This sloping bay will offer you a sublime spot for your sessions.

Weligama is the perfect place for learning. The waves are ideal as they are small and consistent. There are more than 30 surf schools, which will be happy to welcome both beginners and more experienced surfers. By paddling a little further, you can catch even bigger waves.

Whether you are a beginner or experienced, you will find happiness at Tamarindo. This spot is one of the most famous for surfing in Costa Rica. Schools are nearby for those who want to learn more about surfing.

Punta Banco is known for being the second longest left point break in the world. It is therefore a place dedicated to experienced people as the breaks are long waves to surf.
