For over 15 years, Yves has been traveling with his partner all over the world through local travel agencies. For their latest trip, they went to Namibia for two weeks. A trip they prepared in the smallest details with local experts. An experience he shares with us.
We chose Namibia because it is still an unknown destination, which seems to us to have the most beautiful landscapes on the planet: deserts, dunes, and wildlife reserves... On the other hand, it is very difficult for me to tell you what we liked the most, as we enjoyed every day of our trip.
The region of Hardop and the Namib Desert, known to be the oldest desert in the world, left a strong impression on us. We were truly amazed by these incredible landscapes and their famous red dunes. Our favorite: walking on the very narrow ridge line to then discover an incredible view over this salt plain and its countless dead trees dried out over time... (some trees are said to be up to 800 years old!)
The Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world after the American Grand Canyon, impressed us. The view is simply spectacular.
In Etosha National Park, we observed the nocturnal wildlife around the King Nehale Waterhole. It was striking to see the animals in the middle of the night, where the sounds make it feel very, very wild!

We have gotten into the habit of traveling only with local agencies. We target the countries we want to visit, then we look for local agencies with whom we prepare a very specific program for our stay.
For our trip to Namibia, we were in contact with several local agencies that we found on the internet. We wanted to receive other proposals. That's why we continued our research and discovered Quotatrip.com. The site allowed us to be put in touch with two agencies simultaneously. Very quickly, the agencies offered by the platform stood out. We decided to choose the most responsive one and the one offering the best value for money. In the end, the service was excellent and in line with the program we had established.
There are so many countries we would like to discover! But I think the next one on our list will be Japan. A destination that attracts us for its culture, gastronomy, and aesthetics... very far from Namibia.
