Ostional beach is considered the main nesting site in the world for turtles. Thousands of turtles settle each year on the coasts of Costa Rica. About 5 known species represent all the specimens in the country and ensure the reproduction of their species.
You may spot, around a beach, the largest turtle in the world: the Leatherback turtle. It is a spectacular species, due to its size which can reach 2.2 m and weigh up to 700 kg.
