Trip Description

During this 18-day trip, you will set out to discover an authentic Polynesia and its traditions, far from clichés! You will travel across 4 islands: Moorea, Huahiné, Maupiti, and Raiatea with Taha'a, the Vanilla Island, thanks to the inter-island pass. After a one-night stopover in Papeete to recover from your long flight, you will head to Maupiti and its magnificent lagoon, with its motus that shelter beautiful white sand beaches. You will stay in a faré, a type of guesthouse, to share moments of life with the locals. You will get around by bike or canoe to admire the landscapes. Don't hesitate to climb the mountain to enjoy a splendid view of the lagoon. A boat trip with a picnic on a motu will be planned so you can dive into the coral garden, among the multicolored corals. Next, Raiatea, the cradle of Polynesian culture, with its archaeological treasures. It is also renowned as a major yachting destination. It is the only island that has a navigable river, which you can go up by canoe into the heart of a dense tropical forest. During your stay on this island, you will go to Taha'a by boat to swim in its beautiful lagoon and visit a family-run pearl farm. You will also stop in the Vanilla Valley to learn everything about the cultivation and preparation of vanilla. Finally, you will take a walk in nature in the Hamoa estate to observe the flora. Third stop: Huahine, a little paradise where hiking and snorkeling will be on the agenda, with a boat trip around the island. Finally, the last stop: Moorea, to enjoy the many water activities this island offers. It is also the only place where you will stay in an overwater bungalow to finish dreaming. In summer, you will go whale watching with a guide for an unforgettable experience. Finally, you will be introduced to Polynesian traditions during a day, from paddling a canoe to a cooking class. With a local, you will be truly immersed in daily Polynesian life. Of course, relaxation days will be planned so you can fully enjoy the places before your return flight.
