Experience the best of Tanzania with a scenic train journey to Morogoro Town, followed by a road trip from Morogoro to Mikumi National Park! Enjoy a relaxing 4-hour ride, cutting travel time in half compared to road travel. For those who prefer not to travel long distances by road, this is a great alternative. It is a unique way to travel without getting tired, thanks to the modern railway. Mikumi offers visitors the opportunity to experience the beauty of the African wilderness and observe animals in their natural habitat.

day 1
Dar es Salam | Morogoro | Mikumi | Visit Maasai
Depart at 09:30 AM from Dar es Salaam by train to Morogoro town. The train journey takes 2 hours. Upon arrival in Morogoro, you will be met by your safari guide and transferred for about 2 hours to Mikumi Village for lunch and relaxation at the swimming pool. In the evening, visit the Maasai Boma, where you will be able to learn about the Maasai pastoral lifestyle. You can experience a traditional welcome with songs and dances, learn about their culture and lifestyle by exploring their homes, and observe or participate in daily activities such as fire-making and beadwork. Dinner and overnight will be at Camp Bastian, bordering the reserve. Meals Plan: Breakfast & Lunch
day 2
Game Drive in Mikumi | Morogoro | Back to Dar es Salaam
Breakfast is followed by a full-day game viewing drive in the park. Mikumi's vegetation includes woodland, swamp, and grassland, with two water holes: Mkata and Chamgore. Apart from the saddle-bill stork, hammerkop, and malachite kingfisher, you will also find monitor lizards and a deadly python inhabiting the pools. Break for lunch at one of the picnic sites in the park, then proceed with the game viewing drive until 16h00. You will then be transferred to Morogoro Town for the train back to Dar es Salaam, which departs at 19h25 and arrives at 21h10. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the airport or the hotel of your choice. Meals Plan: Lunch & Dinner
