Trip Description

Discover our safaris, tours, vacations, and 6-day travel packages in African wildlife, including the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the famous Ngorongoro Crater National Park in Tanzania. This specific Africa safari and travel itinerary has been designed for visitors with more time for longer safaris or trips. It specifically includes Tarangire National Park and has been created to give you a complete safari experience in northern Tanzania, while minimizing your travel time without wildlife viewing. These unforgettable safaris and tours in Africa will also take you to Serengeti National Park, a vast wilderness of 14,500 km², where each day brings a new landscape and a new adventure. Your African safari will also take you to the Ngorongoro Crater and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in Tanzania, home to one of the highest concentrations of game and arguably the densest population of predators and carnivores in Africa. Here you will witness an amazing spectacle of African wildlife, inside a self-contained world teeming with animals. Finally, your African safari will also take you to Tarangire National Park, which is home to one of the largest concentrations of game in Tanzania, just after the Ngorongoro Crater, but less visited and preserved, with wild and authentic beauty. • day 2

    Arusha - Tarangire National Park

Arusha - Parc national du Tarangiré

In the morning, after breakfast, pick-up at the hotel and transfer to Tarangire National Park. The park runs along the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low hills at the bottom of the Great Rift Valley. Its natural vegetation consists mainly of acacia woodlands and giant African baobabs, with vast marshy areas in the south. The river and marshes are a magnet for wildlife during the dry season in Tanzania. Tarangire National Park is renowned for hosting some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This African national park is also home to three rare animal species: the greater kudu, the fringe-eared oryx, as well as a few ashy starlings. After a picnic, we go on an afternoon safari. Then, dinner and overnight at Marera Valley View Lodge.

  • day 3

Ngorongoro Crater - Serengeti National Park

Cratère du Ngorongoro - Parc national du Serengeti

In the morning at 07:00, we will go to the Ngorongoro Crater and descend more than 600 meters into the crater to observe the wildlife during a half-day safari. Supported by a year-round supply of water and forage, the Ngorongoro National Park is home to a wide variety of animals, including herds of wildebeest, zebras, buffaloes, elands, warthogs, hippos, and giant African elephants. Another major attraction of this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which includes lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the always elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large shallow alkaline lake located in the southwest corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos, and other water birds can usually be seen there. Dinner then transfer to Serengeti National Park for the night in the Serengeti at Narudi Tented Camp.

  • day 4

Full day in Serengeti National Park.

Journée complète dans le parc national du Serengeti

Be one of the few lucky ones to fly over the Serengeti plains in a hot air balloon (available at an extra cost upon prior request). Float silently above the awakening bush, while observing the wildlife and enjoying the stunning landscapes of Africa, crossing rivers and flying over many small villages. After breakfast, we set off on a safari along the Sogore River circuit, which winds through the plains south of the Seronera River, and offers the chance to spot lions, Thomson's gazelles, topis, ostriches, and cheetahs. The visitor center, located near the Serengeti Seronera Lodge and public campsites, is worth a visit after the morning safari. This well-designed center features interesting exhibits on wildlife and flora, as well as a souvenir shop selling information brochures and maps of the area. The center also has a shop where you can buy cold drinks and snacks, as well as a picnic area and an information trail around a nearby kopje. We will enjoy a relaxed picnic at the center, in the shade of giant acacias. In the afternoon, we will follow the Kopjes circuit, which goes counterclockwise around the Maasai Kopjes, which usually attract a number of lions and impressively sized cobras. The kopjes are weathered granite outcrops scattered across the plains, most of which are miniature ecosystems, providing shade and drinking water in ponds left in the rock after the rains. This makes the kopjes particularly suitable for wildlife viewing during the dry seasons, including lions, who like to watch the animals coming to drink! Dinner and overnight in the Serengeti at Narudi Tented Camp.

  • day 5

    Serengeti National Park - Arusha

Parc national du Serengeti - Arusha

After breakfast at the lodge, we depart for a morning safari towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We will stop at Olduvai Gorge, whose history dates back to the dawn of time. It is here that anthropologists Drs. Lois and Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of "Nutcracker Man" and "Handy Man", two very important links in the chain of human evolution. Later, transfer to Arusha for dinner and overnight at the hotel.
