For 15 days, you will travel through the most beautiful regions of the country: from the canals of Tortuguero where you can observe monkeys, caimans, and toucans, to the wild beaches of the Caribbean coast, passing through the Sarapiquí rainforest and the majestic volcanoes. Each stage is designed to spark the curiosity of the youngest while ensuring comfort and authenticity for adults. On the agenda: boat trips in search of turtles, accessible hikes in national parks, visits to ecological farms, interactive activities around chocolate and coffee, swimming in rivers or the sea, as well as wonderful moments of rest in family-friendly accommodations. San José: For your first night, a cozy and quiet boutique hotel allows you to gently rest after your journey. Tortuguero: Immerse yourself in the jungle in a lodge accessible only by boat. Here, children marvel at the monkeys, toucans, and caimans visible from the gardens. The spacious bungalows and the pool in the middle of the forest guarantee a change of scenery and comfort. Arenal: In the region of the famous volcano, you will stay in a family hotel with views of the lush treetops.     Arrival San Jose

    Arrival generally in the late afternoon, our private driver will take you to the Aranjuez hotel. This small establishment benefits from a peaceful atmosphere and a delicious little restaurant, ideal for starting your trip. A member of the agency will come to give you your travel booklet, answer all your questions, and set up your SIM card, adaptable to any smartphone. Dinner at your leisure.

    Direction Tortuguero

    In the early morning, the lodge will pick you up at your hotel. Drive to the little Amazon. On the way, a typical breakfast stop will immerse you directly in the tropical atmosphere of Costa Rica. Then, you will board a boat to reach the Laguna Lodge. In the afternoon, you can enjoy the hotel's gardens and the village. Lunch and dinner at the lodge.

    The canals of Tortuguero

    In the early morning, you will go on a safari on the Tortuguero canals. By boat or by kayak, you will set out to discover the biodiversity of Tortuguero. Here, you can easily observe 3 species of monkeys, dozens of species of birds, caimans, freshwater turtles, and, during the season, sea turtles. A total immersion in the tropical forest. In the afternoon, you will enjoy the pool and the hotel, unless you wish to take the kayaks to go back and explore the atmosphere of the canals on your own.     Heading to the Arenal volcano.

    After breakfast, the lodge will take you back by boat to the mainland, then to a restaurant where lunch will be served to you. The rental company will come here to give you the keys to your rental vehicle. You then take the road to the magical Arenal volcano. The Arenal Oasis Ecolodge reserve is prized by all the naturalist guides in the area for its biodiversity. Staying there is a must. Dinner at your leisure.

    Adventure at Arenal

    In the early morning, your French-speaking guide will accompany you through the hanging bridges of Mistico. He will introduce you to the wildlife and mysteries of this magnificent reserve. The family is generally enthusiastic to observe so closely the monkeys, birds, and mammals of this ecological sanctuary. At the end of the day, you will go relax in the thermal waters of Arenal. A rejuvenating bath appreciated by all. Lunch and dinner at your leisure.

    Road to the Rio Celeste and the Tenorio volcano.

    You leave in the morning, heading for a fun and refreshing adventure. Seated in a large buoy, you will go down the Tenorio River or the Rio Frio for 4 km. Children love it and so do parents. After all these emotions, you will enjoy a typical lunch. Then, you will head to your hotel, the Étoile Céleste, where you can enjoy the peace and the swimming pool, for those who haven't had enough... A beautiful day marked by laughter and discovery. Dinner at your leisure.

    Rio Celeste and Tenorio Park

    After breakfast, you will meet your French-speaking guide for an excursion through Tenorio Park and the famous Rio Celeste waterfall. A beautiful tropical walk awaits you to discover the local wildlife and surrounding landscapes. After this excursion, a lunch, the Casado, will be served to you Costa Rican style. Afternoon and dinner at leisure.

    Route to Samara and the Pacific

    This stage promises you relaxation, beach, and discovery of the seabed. After the journey, enjoy the beach and the pool at the Samara Pacific Lodge for a real moment of relaxation. Lunch and dinner at your leisure.

  • day 9

    Boat trip: dolphin watching.

    After breakfast at the hotel, you will embark on a morning full of observations. Samara is home all year round to dozens of bottlenose dolphins. Scan the vastness of the Pacific with your family to be the first to spot them. You can also enjoy the underwater scenery by snorkeling. Finally, a snack will be served to you on a small island. A great adventure and superb photos await. Lunch and dinner are not included.

    Samara, free day.

    A lazy day to discover the region's beaches: Carillo, Samara of course, Buenavista, Barrigona... You can also visit the village of Samara. A well-deserved break in this adventure-filled trip. Lunch and dinner at your leisure.

    Road to Tárcoles and its crocodiles

    The Rio Tarcoles is known for hosting a large population of American crocodiles. But its interest does not stop there. This river borders the Carara National Park, which is home to many scarlet macaws. You will hear them from afar and can admire their majestic flight. The Rancho Capulin, your lodge, allows you to enjoy a magnificent view and see them flying nearby. In the late afternoon, a boat safari on the Rio Tarcoles will finally allow you to get close to the masters of the place: the famous crocodiles. No need for a swimsuit... You will no doubt be impressed by their size and number. Lunch and dinner are not included.

    South Pacific, Dominical and Uvita

    This last step will allow you to discover yet another different landscape. This is where the jungle meets the sea. The beaches, often deserted, the waterfalls, and the wildlife are definitely even richer than in the north of the country. Your family hotel, the Rio Mar, is located on the edge of the Rio Baru and just a few steps from the small village of Dominical. You will be able to enjoy the many beaches in the area, such as: Playa Hermosa, Playa Ballena, Playa Ventana, and of course the Marino Ballena National Park. The hotel's pool is enjoyable, as is the on-site restaurant. Lunch and dinner are free.

    Sierpe Mangrove and zipline

    A beautiful day ahead: you will set off by boat on the meanders of the Sierpe River, known for its biodiversity. Here, monkeys, caimans, frogs, bats, agoutis, reptiles, and coatis are omnipresent. You will have the opportunity to get very close to this impressive biodiversity. Then, on the way back, you will stop to enjoy the zip lines and have fun with your family. A beautiful day that you will no doubt debrief around the pool at the end of the day. Lunch on your own - recommended in Sierpe. Dinner on your own.

    Free day

    To end this journey, a free day to rest will be welcome. You will have the choice to enjoy the beaches of Marino Ballena National Park, the hotel and its pool area... If you still have energy, go on an excursion to the Nauyaca waterfalls or to other waterfalls that we will indicate in your roadbook. We can also organize a family picnic on the beach, a visit to a cocoa farm, a horseback ride, or even a guided tour of the nearby animal sanctuary... The choice is yours!     Return to San José

    And there you have it, your Costa Rican adventure is coming to an end...
