Aurangabad was the capital of the Mughal Empire in the 17th century, but is known for earlier masterful works.     Aurangabad, cultural center since the 4th century.

    During this day, we will go back in time. We will start in the 17<sup>th</sup> century with the city gates, then visit the citadel of Aurangzeb, the last great Mughal emperor. You will discover the ingenuity of Malik Ambar in bringing water to the city. We will have the opportunity to introduce you to the art of the caves. Finally, we will end with the most beautiful example of Mughal architecture.

    Ajanta, the lost jewel

    This site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was rediscovered in 1819 by an English lord during a hunting party. It is a living testimony to Buddhist art between the 2nd century BC and the 6th century AD. There are 28 caves to discover with magnificent paintings.

    Ellora, the ninth wonder of the world.

    Unlike Ajanta, Ellora was never lost and has always been admired by travelers. The fame of these caves has attracted writers from all over the world, such as Pierre Loti. It is a group of 32 caves that is unique in representing three Indian religions: Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism. They were listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, among other reasons thanks to the Kailash temple, the largest monolithic monument in the world.

    In the footsteps of Aurangzeb

    Aurangzeb was the last great Mughal emperor. During this day, we will follow in his footsteps by visiting Khuldabad, his final resting place, and Daulatabad, the impregnable fort he coveted for a long time. You will discover these two cities: one was the spiritual capital of Sufism in India, the other the administrative capital of the Delhi sultans in the 14 th century.

    The beauty of nature What better way to start your day at dawn than with a trek? We will climb one of the most iconic mountains of Aurangabad. We will admire the city waking up from the summit. Finally, we will have a well-deserved breakfast under an eight-hundred-year-old tree. The rest of the day will be free, with our advice to help you find everything you wish to buy.
