day 1
Denpasar - SanurFirst of all, let us remind you that this program is an example: it allows you to embrace the "Slow Travel" spirit during your stay. It is therefore entirely customizable. The nights and stages are given for information purposes only, based on what has been popular with our Amanaska travelers. The hotels will be suggested to you, at a later stage, according to the itinerary you have chosen. You have finally arrived at Bali airport, in Denpasar. After collecting your luggage, and just outside, you will be greeted by a French-speaking member of our team holding a small sign with your name on it. We will then leave together for Sanur. Night in Sanur
day 2
Free day in SanurYou certainly have many questions to ask us. Therefore, we suggest meeting at our offices around 10:30 in the morning (your driver will pick you up at your hotel). This meeting will allow you to review your program, clearly identify the must-sees, our favorites, the important points not to forget, as well as some tips that will be very useful during your tour. The afternoon will be an opportunity for you to rest peacefully, exchange your money, find detailed maps of Bali, try out a few words of Indonesian, get a massage: in short, to get yourself ready for the rest of your program. Nights in Sanur
day 3
The Pasar Badung market - Jatiluwih - MundukIt is now time to hit the road and experience Bali at your own pace. The choice is yours: lose yourself to find yourself again, follow our advice, or prefer to listen to your own instinct… The adventure awaits at the end of the road, but always in Slow Travel mode. You can therefore head to Denpasar to visit Pasar Badung, the largest market in Bali. A unique atmosphere, unknown fruits, intoxicating scents. It’s a direct immersion into local life: here, there are few or no tourists, but a first encounter off the traditional circuits. If you wish, you can head to the Jatiluwih rice fields. This region, recently listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers splendid landscapes that have hardly changed for hundreds of years and allow you to discover endless terraced rice fields, as well as the surrounding villages. The road naturally leads you to the Bedugul region and, more specifically, Munduk: located in the heart of mountains covered with clove trees, this village is surrounded by coffee, cocoa, and jungle plantations. Overnight in Munduk.
day 4
Munduk Balinese Temple - jungle and sacred lakeMunduk is a region ideal for exploration, especially along the edge of Lake Tamblingan, with a walk of about 2 hours (to be arranged with your local guide) through a primary forest where huge banyan trees (sacred trees) share the sky with giant ficus trees. On the way back, you will cross the sacred waters of Lake Tamblingan aboard a traditional canoe whose hull is carved from a single tree trunk. The day can continue with a visit to Pura Ulun Danu. This temple, located on the edge of Lake Bratan, is dedicated to the goddess of the lake, sovereign of Bali's waters, who joined forces with the deity of Mount Agung to make the island fertile. It is said that the goddess Danu is a manifestation of the great god Vishnu, protector of the universe. Overnight in Munduk
day 5
Pemuteran, the black sand beach, or Amed, the former fishing village. When preparing your tailor-made program, we will offer you two options. You can spend two free days in Pemuteran, to enjoy a beautiful region between Barat National Park and the Menjagan Nature Reserve, unless you prefer Amed, a pleasant fishing village famous for its long black sand beach at the end of which stands the imposing Agung volcano. Pemuteran, like Amed, can also be an opportunity to lose yourself in reading, get massages all day, and take long naps by the pool. In this program, everything is offered and nothing is imposed. In both cases, on the way, you have the possibility to stop at the Banjar hot springs, and/or visit the Shinto temple of Singaraja or the Buddhist monastery of Seririt. It's up to you to choose! Unless you have another wish? Overnight in Pemuteran or Amed.
day 6
Pemuteran, the black sand beach, or Amed, the former fishing village.Pemuteran or Amed are two very pleasant regions to enjoy nature and wide open spaces. More intimate than Amed, Pemuteran gives you the opportunity to go snorkeling in the Menjangan natural park, while Amed will be more appreciated by divers and those who want more activities.
day 7
The protected region of SidemenDepending on the region you previously chose, the route to reach Sidemen will be more or less long. Many stops are possible to allow you to continue enjoying Bali. The village of Sidemen remains a reference for those who love the authentic preservation of a millennial region, with the majestic Mount Agung in the background and the mountainsides sculpted by superb terraced rice fields, as well as corn, chili, and clove plantations. Night in Sidemen
day 8
The protected region of SidemenThe panoramas offered by this rural region seem timeless and take us back to the Bali of yesteryear. This region has been preserved thanks to a local association that has been active for several years and enforces rules to maintain both culture and tradition. This day can be devoted to long walks in the Sidemen rice fields or to reaching the temple located at altitude, unless you prefer to set off to discover Tirta Gangga, which means "holy water of the Ganges" in Balinese. This architectural complex, built in 1948 by the Raja of Karangasem, curiously combines Balinese and Chinese styles. The water garden, which covers an area of 1.2 hectares, includes three zones. Sidemen is ideal for taking your time and meeting the local population. You are in freedom mode, so it's up to you to choose what pleases you. Night in Sidemen
day 9
Ubud: the secrets of BaliWe leave for Ubud in the late morning, which has become the must-visit region for those who appreciate being able to taste, touch, be moved, take a journey through time, or experience authentic sensations. There is something for everyone, from the contemporary to the oldest discoveries. Ubud is a Balinese book that revisits the entire history of the island—it's up to you to discover it. On the way, you can stop at the village of Tenganan, where the ancient Balinese, the Agas, will help you better understand Bali's past. Overnight in Ubud
day 10
Ubud: the secrets of BaliUbud, over the years, has become an important activity center. There is of course the city center with the market, the Royal Palace and the little-known Saraswati temple, but also the magnificent Tegal Lalang rice fields, the surprising Goa Gajah cave... It's up to you to make your own discoveries, to stroll around, to try the famous Babi Guling restaurant whose address we will have given you, or to go see the show at the Lotus Café. During this day, it will also be possible for you to go on a mountain bike ride (optional), where you can set the pace according to your level, or to choose the rafting descent in the heart of the Telaga Wajah river rapids! A descent during which you can admire splendid wild landscapes. Night in Ubud.
day 11
Ubud: the secrets of BaliTake advantage of this new day to immerse yourself a little more in the secrets of Bali. Today, we suggest you follow your driver, who will accompany you to one of Bali's major temples: Tirta Empul, a sacred place that houses a spring with ancient powers. Then, depending on your wishes, we can head to the caldera of Mount Batur to admire the volcano, and return at the end of the day to enjoy one last massage. Let yourself be guided or choose your own program: that's the principle of your trip.
day 12
Ubud - Departure from BaliAccording to your flight schedule, transfer to Bali International Airport. (Certainly with a lot of luggage, but also with wonderful memories.)
