Welcome to the Caribbean!We begin our adventure in vibrant Cartagena de Indias, a city full of history, color, and life, where the colonial past blends with the Caribbean breeze. Upon your arrival, transfer to the hotel and free time to start exploring the magical Walled City, a maze of cobbled streets, flowered balconies, and lively squares. Enjoy the sunset from the ramparts or taste the local cuisine in one of its charming restaurants. Overnight at the hotel.

Cartagena – Living history and colonial charm CartagenaA city that captivates with its combination of history, culture, and vibrant Caribbean energy. During this excursion, you will discover its most iconic sites, accompanied by an expert guide. We begin with a visit to the San Felipe Castle, an imposing fortress built by the Spanish to protect the city from pirate attacks. Explore its tunnels and learn more about its key role in colonial history. Next, we enter the Historic Center, starting with the Clock Tower and Customs Square, where colonial trade took place. We will continue our visit to the San Pedro Claver Church, with its impressive architecture and religious heritage. We will take a short break at Bolívar Square, surrounded by colonial buildings, to enjoy a fresh juice or coffee before heading to Centenario Park, home to sloths, little titi monkeys, and iguanas in the heart of the city. We will end our visit in Getsemaní, a neighborhood rich in colors, urban art, and vibrant atmosphere, ideal for capturing the authentic essence of Cartagena. Note: the vehicle will be available only during the visit to San Felipe Castle. The rest of the tour is on foot in the historic center. Overnight at the hotel.

Cartagena – BoardingBreakfast, then, at the agreed time, transfer to the port to board the boat towards Magdalena. After settling into your cabin, enjoy a visit to the impressive Getsemaní district. With the vibrant colors of its houses, its street art, as well as the delicious local specialties found throughout the region, this historic district will awaken all your senses. Gambote (Palenque) – CalamarIn the morning, discover Palenque, the first free village in the Americas. Founded by those who escaped slavery during the colonial era, its spirit and identity have been preserved over time. In 1713, the Spanish crown issued a Royal Decree that officially freed the inhabitants of Palenque from slavery. Immerse yourself in the deeply rooted culture and traditions of this village, so unique that UNESCO has inscribed Palenque on the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. An important part of its heritage is the music and rhythmic style developed in this town, which you can enjoy during a special performance by local musicians. Later, visit Calamar. Located at the entrance to the Canal del Dique, this village was founded in 1840. Santa Bárbara de Pinto – MompoxSpend the morning in Santa Barbara de Pinto, located on the banks of the Mompox branch of the Magdalena River. In the afternoon, arrive in the island village of Mompox, where you will be warmly welcomed and accompanied by lively music during an exclusive jazz concert performed by local musicians. Mompox: a village frozen in timeMompox embodies the aspect of many villages from the colonial era. Founded in 1540, this isolated village became an important Spanish trading post. Some Spaniards found refuge there to store gold and other treasures, safe from pirates who plundered coastal cities like Cartagena. Thanks to this precious metal and the work of skilled Spanish craftsmen, magnificent objects were created. Since then, the village has been renowned for its filigree jewelry, and you can learn more during your visit. While exploring the largest inland island in Latin America, wander through the beautiful swamps and explore the vast lake that is home to a great variety of indigenous flora and fauna of the region, with opportunities for birdwatching at sunrise, early in the morning, and at dusk. In the morning and afternoon, you will have the opportunity to take a guided walking tour of this historic village. MompoxSay goodbye to Mompox before embarking on a scenic cruise along one of the most impressive stretches of the Magdalena River, in the La Mojana region. Learn more about the history of cumbia, an iconic musical and dance genre that has become popular worldwide. What began as a courtship dance practiced by African slaves later incorporated Amerindian steps as well as European and African instruments, and became a global phenomenon, particularly popular in Colombia's Andean region.
