Trip Description

Who says holidays often means rest! On the beaches or in the quiet countryside, you can recharge in Malta without any problem. In the evening, calm settles over certain parts of the island and many places offer sumptuous sunsets. If you are looking for tranquility, you might consider a night visit to Mdina, the former capital of Malta, now nicknamed "The Silent City". Or, sit at the top of the Dingli cliffs, contemplate the landscape and enjoy the rest that a stay on the archipelago can offer. History enthusiasts will be delighted to learn, in addition to all the monuments they can visit (including no less than 320 just in the capital Valletta), that Malta has prehistoric temples considered the oldest megalithic monuments in Europe. By following in the footsteps of the Knights of the Order of Saint John, you will realize the richness of the island's history. Indeed, it has been coveted by many countries over time, until finally gaining its independence in 1964. Turquoise water, beaches, rocky coves and natural pools surrounded by cliffs... It would be a shame not to enjoy the water during your next holiday in Malta. There are so many little corners of paradise like this on the island that you will be surprised to find such beautiful water so close to home. Whether at the Blue Lagoon of Comino with its clear water and fine sand, or in the more secret cove of Wied Il-Għasri in Gozo, you will inevitably fall under its charm. Your stay in Malta will be a great opportunity to learn and enrich yourself. It is impossible not to be amazed by the country's architecture, very homogeneous and influenced by the Victorian era. Passing through the museums or the St. John's Co-Cathedral in Valletta, you will admire sumptuous works of art, including a famous painting by Caravaggio. Finally, movie lovers will follow in the footsteps of their favorite films and series, as the archipelago is a very popular filming location for Hollywood productions (Titanic, James Bond, Game Of Thrones...). Do you want to try new activities during your holidays? On land, at sea or in the air, this small island in the heart of the Mediterranean offers many possibilities for sports enthusiasts, or anyone who loves to discover and explore, in search of more or less intense sensations. Stand-up paddle, kayaking, diving and snorkeling... All water sports are of course available in Malta and for all levels. If you like solid ground, there are also some beautiful hikes to do on the island. Finally, for those who are not afraid of heights, some sites will offer you the chance to go abseiling or zip-lining. As Franco-Maltese, we know these islands better than anyone and will guide you off the beaten path, for a unique travel experience away from the crowds. Of course, we will also show you the must-sees! Authentik Malta offers to accompany you on your trip to Malta and help you have a stay that will let you discover the island's must-sees.
