  Rio de Janeiro - Arrival

  

  Welcome at the airport by our French-speaking guide. Transfer and check-in at the hotel. As this is a tailor-made trip, we adapt the schedule of visits according to flight times. After a long flight from France (+/- 11h) and the time difference, we generally suggest a bit of rest before starting the visits. However, we remain open to any wishes you may have.   Corcovado and Sugarloaf

  

  Brazilian breakfast served at the hotel restaurant. In the morning, visit to Christ offering an indescribable view of the bay of Rio de Janeiro. "Corcovado" is a distortion of the word "hunchback" in Portuguese to designate the mountain, which dominates Rio from its 710 meters and on which stands the giant statue (38 m high, 28 m wide) of Christ the Redeemer, created by the French sculptor Paul Landowski.   Brazilian breakfast served at the hotel restaurant. In the morning, private tour of colonial Rio with a bilingual French-speaking guide. Walk in old Rio, cultural corridor, Tiradentes Palace, Lapa dos Mercadores Church, Praça XV, Casa França-Brasil, Candelária Church, Saint Benedict Monastery and its gold-covered church. We will finish the tour with a visit to the superb modern metropolitan cathedral, inspired by an Inca temple. Lunch at leisure. In the afternoon, visit the Santa Teresa district and discover the Selarón steps. Dinner at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

  Manaus

  Amazon Cruise

  

  Brazilian breakfast served at the hotel restaurant. Morning and lunch at leisure. Board the M/V DESAFIO at 2:00 pm at the Manaus dock. Once on board, our guide will welcome you with a brief talk about the sailboat and the Amazon, while you enjoy a delicious cocktail made with local fruit juice, accompanied by snacks. We will then begin sailing towards "Três Bocas," located in the Anavilhanas archipelago. After dinner served on board, you will enjoy a pleasant motorized canoe excursion to discover the surroundings, an opportunity to listen to the sounds of the jungle. Overnight on board the boat. In addition to the Desafio, we offer other cruise alternatives (private boat) or, of course, stays in lodges (often less expensive).

• day 6

  Meeting with indigenous communities.

  

  At 05:30, departure to admire the jungle in the morning and listen to the birdsong in all its diversity. Return to the boat for breakfast, then continue navigating in our motorized canoes towards the village of the "Terra Prata" Indian community. You will have the opportunity to discover the lifestyle and habits of the Indians of this community. Return to the boat and lunch on board. In the afternoon, navigation to the village of the "Jaraqui" community. Tour along the river until arrival on dry land, where it is possible to take a hike to observe the regional flora and fauna, drink water from the cipó (local plant), and listen to the echo produced by the immense trees of the Amazon. Return to the boat for dinner served on board and overnight on the boat.

• day 7

  The meeting of the waters

  

  Breakfast on board the boat. Sailing towards the small village of Acajatuba. Halfway, a stop is planned at the "Recanto dos botos," where you will have the opportunity to interact with pink dolphins and feed the famous "Pirarucu" fish, known as the Amazonian cod. Return to the boat for lunch. The cruise resumes to witness the famous "Meeting of the Waters," a phenomenon where the dark waters of the Rio Negro meet the clay-colored waters of the Solimões River, without mixing. After that, you will head to "Janauari" lake for another wonderful experience: piranha fishing, the fish feared by all. After dinner served on board, a journey through the igarapés in search of alligators and other nocturnal animals with the help of flashlights. Return to the boat for the night.

  Exploration of the river

  

  After breakfast, departure by motor canoe to visit the giant water lilies, magnificent aquatic plants typical of the Amazon region. Return to the boat and continuation of the journey back to Manaus, with arrival scheduled at 11:00 am. Lunch at leisure. Transfer to Manaus airport. Flight to Salvador.   Salvador
