day 1
Tirana Airport – Tirana
Airport pick-up service available throughout the day (included). Welcome to Albania! Transfer to Tirana and settle into your hotel. Your self-drive agent will hand over the car, SIM card, and gadgets, and provide a tour briefing.
day 2
Tirana
This morning, drive to BunkArt 1 for a full immersion into Albanian history over the last 100 years. Return to the city center and walk towards Skanderbeg Square to learn about the historical buildings, such as the Et’hem Bey Mosque and the Clock Tower, that surround Tirana’s main square.
day 3
Tirana - Apollonia Archaeological Park - Gjirokastra
Along the way to Gjirokaster, stop at Apollonia Archaeological Park for a visit. Visit the park and discover the history behind the Temple of Artemis, the Odeon, and the Triumphal Arch on your own, or hire an archaeologist on site. Arrive in the UNESCO town of Gjirokaster. Visit the Castle of Gjirokaster, its “Neck of the Bazaar,” and the Skenduli House – the former Ethnographic Museum.

Gjirokastra - Blue Eye Spring - Saranda
Along the way to Saranda, stop to visit the karstic natural spring of the Blue Eye and admire the different shades of blue in the spring and the surrounding nature. Arrive in Saranda, settle into the hotel, and enjoy the evening in this seaside town.

Saranda - Butrint Archaeological Park - Ksamil - Saranda
This morning, reach Butrint National Park (UNESCO) for a visit to the ancient archaeological park. Spend the day at Ksamil Beach. On the way back, stop and visit Lekursi Castle, which overlooks the town of Saranda.

Saranda - Porto Palermo - Llogara National Park - Berat
Drive to the Ali Pasha Fortress in Porto Palermo and visit the triangular fortress of Ali Pasha on the peninsula of Porto Palermo. Stop for lunch in Llogara National Park and enjoy the Riviera from above. Reach Berat, get settled in the hotel, and visit Berat Castle/Citadel, the Iconographic Onufri Museum inside the castle, the Mangalem quarter, the Gorica Bridge, and the Medieval Center.
