Trip Description

Do you enjoy original and immersive trips? How could you discover Martinique in a more original way than by staying in one of its distilleries? Your rental villa is the annex of a historic 18th-century house, typically colonial (a distillery still in operation!). It features a large private pool, its own tennis court, and is set in the heart of nature. Surrounded by a 3-hectare garden, you enjoy a lovely open view of the surrounding countryside and the sea. An unusual concept: spend your vacation in a distillery still in operation! Charming decor and a unique setting for this house full of history, located near the Atlantic Ocean. For an additional fee, you can truly step into the shoes of a rum maker. Every day, a different activity is planned to help you discover this profession: you will even create your own batch of Martinican white rum...

Stay program

  • day 1

Arrival in Martinique and check-in at your villa.

Upon your arrival, you will pick up your rental car directly at the airport. Then, you head towards your rental house (40 min drive). Settle into your house, then relax. It is located in the heart of a still-operating distillery: the ideal place to discover the secrets and stories behind the making of Martinican rum, famous worldwide. The house has all the comforts for a great holiday with family or friends: 3 to 4 air-conditioned bedrooms (2 to 3 double bedrooms + one bedroom with 4 single bunk beds), beautifully decorated in a colonial style with lots of character, and 3 bathrooms.

  • day 2

Relaxation in the heart of the distillery

Détente au coeur de la distillerie

This morning, a (non-private) tour allows you to discover the distillery and taste its different artisanal rums. Then, you can enjoy the day relaxing on the estate: a private pool and tennis court are at your disposal.

  • day 3

    Boat day discovering the islets!

Journée en bateau à la découverte des îlets !

Today, a day on a private boat takes you to the islets of Le François. You make several stops in paradisiacal places, and the program can be adjusted according to your wishes at the moment. You swim in beautiful white sandbanks and lagoons with turquoise waters, notably in the famous Joséphine's bathtub. Lunch is planned on board. At the end of the afternoon, you return to your accommodation.

  • day 4

    Heading north Caribbean

    Cap vers le nord caraïbes

Today, we invite you to head to the extreme northwest of Martinique to discover its unspoiled and wild beaches, especially Anse Couleuvre. We recommend several typical restaurants in the region where you can stop for lunch. Don't miss a visit to the charming Carbet Zoo, especially if you are with children. The former capital of the island, Saint-Pierre, is also a must-see stop. This city was destroyed by the infamous eruption of Mount Pelée at the beginning of the 20th century. Several museums allow you to learn more about this tragedy and about how volcanoes work. After this busy day, you return to your accommodation for the night.

  • day 5

Les Anses d'Arlet: between beaches, coves, and fishing villages

Les Anses d'Arlet entre plages, criques et villages de pêcheurs

Today, you head towards the southeast of the island. On the agenda: relaxation and swimming at Anse Dufour, Anse Noire, and Les Anses d'Arlet. Water activities can be organized if you wish: scuba diving, snorkeling to observe turtles, boat trips to see dolphins, kayaking, paddleboarding...

  • day 6

Hiking and swimming in a tropical river.

Randonnée et baignade dans une rivière tropicale

Today, you are going to visit the Balata gardens, a sublime journey into the world of tropical biodiversity. Then, following our advice, you buy something for a picnic to spend a typically Martinican day: a walk and lunch by a tropical river... Don't forget to swim in the refreshing water! Depending on your preferences and the age of the children, different hiking trails (ranging from 5 minutes to several hours of walking) are possible. Return to your rental house at the end of the afternoon.

  • day 7

Relaxation in the heart of the plantations

    Détente au coeur des plantations

Several distillery visits are possible today for rum and spirit tourism enthusiasts. For those who prefer, you can simply enjoy the day relaxing on the grounds of your estate: deckchairs, private pool, and tennis court are at your disposal for this last day.

  • day 8
