• day 1

  Transfer from Kigali airport to the hotel.

  

  Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will go through customs and immigration. You will then be welcomed by our guide, who will greet you in the land of a thousand hills, and then take you to the accommodation reserved for you. Accommodation: Quite Haven Hotel Meals: Dinner

• day 2

  Full day in Kigali

  

  After having your breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel and take you to the hills of Mount Kigali in Nyamirambo for a hike to the summit, where you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the entire city of Kigali. On the way back from Mount Kigali, you will be taken to Nyamirambo, where you will discover the market with a group of women from Nyamirambo who will give you an insight into the culture and traditional lifestyle of Rwandans. You will also have some Kinyarwanda language lessons. You will visit the home of a village resident. Meet local vendors from Nyamirambo to discuss with them how they conduct their daily activities. Later, you will enjoy a traditional local lunch, prepared and served in the home of one of the members of the Nyamirambo women's group, just before visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial. • day 3

  Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

  

  In the morning, you will have your breakfast, then you will head towards the Western province. You will visit the Royal Palace Museum as well as the Ethnographic Museum of the Southern province. After your lunch on the way, you will continue the day at Nyungwe National Park. Accommodation: Emeraude Kivu Resort Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

• day 4

  Hiking with chimpanzees and visit to a tea plantation

  

  Today, after having your African coffee early in the morning, you will leave your hotel to discover the Nyungwe forest, known for its 13 species of primates. In the park, you will go for a hike to meet the chimpanzees. You will have one hour to observe them. After the chimpanzee trek, you will have lunch, then you will go for a walk in the tea plantation. • day 5

  Canopy walk and visit to the local community at Nyungwe

  

  After your breakfast, you will set off to discover the canopy. This 90-meter-long suspended metal bridge will offer you a beautiful view of the Nyungwe forest. Then, you will return to your hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for a walk in the local community, very close to the Nyungwe forest, to discover the daily life of Rwandans. • day 6

  Hiking to the waterfalls and afternoon hike with the colobus monkeys.

  

  You will set out to explore the forest for a hike near waterfalls, where you will have the opportunity to discover various types of plantations in Nyungwe Park. Throughout your hike, you may spot primates and different species of birds. You will return for lunch before heading out again to observe monkeys in the Nyungwe forest. • day 7

  Transfer to Kibuye

  

  After your breakfast, you will enjoy a boat ride on Lake Kivu and visit the different islands of the lake. Later, after the transfer to Kibuye, you will visit the Environment Museum to learn more about the flora and fauna of Rwanda. You will have a new experience with the fishermen before midnight. Then, you will return to your hotel for dinner and the night. Accommodation: Bethany Hotel Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

• day 8

  Transfer to Musanze

  

  After breakfast, you will be transferred to Musanze. You will visit the coffee plantations in Kinunu and the doll workshop in Gisenyi, intended for widowed women who make handicrafts. Upon arrival, you will take a walk in the city to see how Rwandans live, then you will return to the hotel. Accommodation: La Palme Hotel Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

• day 9

  The ascent of the Bisoke trail in the volcanoes.

  

  Have a coffee, then get ready for the gorilla briefing organized by the park team. Afterwards, you will enter the jungle to begin the ascent of Mount Bisoke (6 hours of hiking). Good physical condition and a good pair of shoes are necessary for the proper conduct of this activity. In the afternoon, you will return to your hotel. • day 10

  Trekking with monkeys and canoe ride

  

  After your breakfast, the driver will take you to the center of the park for a briefing, then you will start your day of trekking with monkeys. Just like during the gorilla trekking experience, you will then go canoeing on lakes Burera and Ruhondo, which will give you the opportunity to observe different types of birds and enjoy the magnificent view of the volcano chain. You will return later to the lodge for dinner and the night. Accommodation: Hôtel La Palme Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

• day 11

  Transfer to Akagera National Park from Kigali.

  

  After your breakfast at your hotel, you will depart for Akagera National Park. The journey to Akagera National Park takes about 4 hours, depending on the stops made, which offer a magnificent view of the land of a thousand hills (do not hesitate to ask the guides to make stops for taking photos). Upon your arrival at the park, check in at the park office, then go to your accommodation to order lunch. Later, we will head inside the park for a brief walk to observe the animals. Then, you will return to the lodge for dinner. Accommodation: Akagera Game Lodge Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner

• day 12

  Safari in the morning and boat trip in the afternoon.

  

  After an early breakfast at 6:00 am, departure with the driver in a Land Cruiser Jeep 4x4 for a tour in Akagera National Park. We will be looking for large mammals such as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, different species of antelopes, lions, and rhinoceroses, recently reintroduced into the park. You will return later to your lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will go on a boat excursion on Lake Ihema, located inside the park, where you can observe hippos and crocodiles in the water. Later, you will return to the lodge for dinner. Accommodation: Akagera Game Lodge Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner

• day 13

  Back to Kigali

  

  You will leave your lodge after your breakfast and head for a short walk in the forest before returning to Kigali. Upon arriving in Kigali, you will visit the local Kimironko market and the surroundings of the city. Your driver will take you to the accommodation reserved for you. • day 14

  Departure to the airport.

  

  In the morning, after your breakfast, your driver will take you to the Nyamirambo area for a walk. Afterwards, return to Kigali for departure to the airport.
