day 2
Discover Tarangire National Park. After breakfast at the lodge, you will meet your driver-guide for a short briefing before leaving for Tarangire National Park (about 2h15 drive). Upon arrival at the gate, you will patiently wait for the permit issuance and registration formalities. You will then witness the hustle and bustle of driver-guides with their safari vehicles rushing to enter the park. This is the perfect time to take a pee before the safari begins. Once the permits are obtained, you will enter the park for the safari. Tarangire National Park, which takes its name from the river that runs through it, is considered one of the most beautiful wildlife refuges in Tanzania. Its large concentration of elephants and its baobabs have contributed to its reputation. Covering 2,600 km², the park consists of low hills where acacia forests and giant baobabs mix, marsh areas, and vast plains. The park is home to resident wildlife (elephants, giraffes, felines...) but also species that are sometimes difficult to observe in other parks, such as the gerenuk, lesser kudu, oryx, or even the eland and greater kudu. In the dry season, large herds of zebras and wildebeest gather along the Tarangire River and, in the rainy season, the green landscapes enhanced by the rains offer a wonderful spectacle. Picnic lunch. Arrival at the camp in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at TARANGIRE TORTILIS CAMP (Double Tent)
day 3
Morning safari in Tarangire, then a cultural visit. After breakfast, depart for a morning safari in Tarangire National Park, followed by lunch at the Tarangire Safari Lodge. In the afternoon, drive to Karatu. Stop at the village of Mto wa Mbu. Afternoon dedicated to a guided tour of the village of Mto wa Mbu. The village, ideally located in the Rift Valley, is home to a multitude of tribes living in perfect harmony. Indeed, Tanzanian tribes coexist with the Maasai, who have lived on this land with their cattle for generations. With its renowned market, especially for its countless fruits, including different varieties of bananas and custard apples, its banana plantations, rice cultivation, and craft workshops (wood carvings, paintings, etc.), the village is an ideal stop to discover Tanzanian life and culture. Arrival at the lodge at the end of the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at MARERA VALLEY LODGE (Double Room)
day 4
Walk along the edges of the Ngorongoro crater, then safari in the Serengeti. After breakfast, take your picnics and head towards Ngorongoro. Here, you will enjoy a short hike accompanied by an armed ranger to explore the Ngorongoro highlands. Once an active volcano as large as Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro contains the largest intact volcanic caldera on the planet, with an area of 260 km² and a diameter of 18 km. The crater rim towers over the floor by more than 600 m. This walk allows you to discover the abundant flora of the crater rim, enjoy magnificent views of the crater (if the weather is clear), and, with a bit of luck, encounter some animals. You will then head towards the country's greatest attraction: Serengeti National Park. "Serengeti" comes from the Maasai language and means "endless plains," which describes it perfectly. Serengeti National Park is the most famous park in Africa due to the largest concentration of game on the continent and the migration of millions of wildebeest. The most impressive nature documentaries have been filmed in this magnificent park. With nearly 15,000 km², Serengeti National Park is the second largest park in Tanzania. The park's captivating landscapes range from acacia savannahs to vast grasslands, mountains, lakes, and swamps. Each area is unique and has its own atmosphere. Due to its natural beauty and the variety of its plants and animals, the park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This place will certainly touch your soul. Arrival at the lodge in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at SERENGETI TORTILIS CAMP (Double Tent)
day 5
Discover the Serengeti National ParkToday, you will enjoy a full day of safari in Serengeti National Park. With the help of your driver-guide, you will decide on your program as you wish. Remember that the flexibility of having your private guide and private vehicle during a safari is evident when you want to spend more time following a particular animal in its natural and undisturbed habitat, or when you prefer to relax a bit while waiting for the sun to engulf the horizon with its purple and fiery colors. Your private guide will adapt the program of your day according to your main interests and passion. If you like to observe wildlife from another point of view, it is recommended to include a balloon safari. Flying in a hot air balloon is a unique way to soar over the bush and surprise the animals at the first light of day... In the sky, the clouds draw shapes where thoughts settle. On the ground, the savannah awakens and, with it, its many species that show the tips of their horns, ears, or trunks. The balloon rises above the Serengeti plains at sunrise. The balloon pilot changes the altitude during the flight for the greatest pleasure of the passengers: ascending for an overview of the park and descending to skim the heads of giraffes. Once back on the ground, breakfast awaits to prolong the experience. ***(Additional fees will apply for the inclusion of the balloon safari). Arrival at the lodge in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at SERENGETI TORTILIS CAMP (Double Tent)
