Arrival in Arusha
Morning/Afternoon: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Transfer: Met by our representative and transferred to your hotel, a short distance from Arusha City Centre. Accommodation: Overnight at Arusha Serena Lodge on a bed and breakfast basis.
day 2:
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Morning: Leisure time followed by a comprehensive safari briefing and lunch. Afternoon: Join a seat-in-vehicle safari. Depart Arusha, passing through the picturesque Masai Steppe with African villages, maize, coffee, and banana plantations. Journey: Continue to Tarangire National Park Gate via Makuyuni. Accommodation: Arrive at your lodge for dinner and overnight at Tarangire Sopa Lodge.
day 3:
Tarangire Game Drive & Transfer to Lake Manyara
Morning: After breakfast, embark on a game drive in Tarangire National Park. Search for large prides of lion and vast elephant herds, driving through the iconic baobab tree-lined park to explore the Silale Swamp. Lunch: Return to your lodge for lunch. Afternoon: Drive North through the park to Makuyuni, then continue the journey through a scenic escarpment. Accommodation: Arrive at your next accommodation for dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge.
day 4:
Lake Manyara Game Drive & Transfer to Serengeti National Park
Morning: Following breakfast, enjoy a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, renowned for its tree-climbing lions and diverse birdlife. Lunch: Return to the lodge for lunch. Afternoon: Leave Manyara behind and journey North West across the stunning hill countryside of the highlands, filled with wheat and coffee plantations, then enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Journey: From here, the vast plains of the Serengeti unfold. Begin spotting wildlife en route as you approach the entrance gate. Accommodation: Complete formalities and enter the park with game viewing en route to your camp/lodge for dinner and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge.
day 5:
Full Day Game Drives in Serengeti National Park
Morning & Afternoon: Enjoy extensive game drives in Serengeti National Park. Wildlife Highlights: The Serengeti offers not only all members of 'The Big Five' (elephant, rhino, lion, leopard, and buffalo), but also the annual 'Great Migration' of over one million wildebeest and their attendant cast of predators (seasonal). Accommodation: Overnight at camp/lodge on a full board basis.
day 6:
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Morning: After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro with a picnic lunch, viewing game across the vast Serengeti plains. Journey: Stop en route for a picnic lunch. Continue to your camp/lodge. Ngorongoro Crater: Known as ‘The eighth wonder of the world', the Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa's best-known wildlife arenas. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it offers a unique biosphere, which has remained virtually unchanged since the dawn of time. Accommodation: Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.
day 7:
Ngorongoro Crater Exploration
Morning: A highlight awaits as you depart to explore what is commonly referred to as the World’s largest natural wildlife arena. Crater Descent: After breakfast, descend with a picnic lunch through the early morning mists and 2,000 feet into the crater. Ngorongoro Crater is the World’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Exploration: Due to its size and diversity, the crater floor comprises several distinct areas, ranging from forest, swamps, lakes, and springs, to open grassland and some sandy dunes. A truly unique wildlife experience. Accommodation: Return to the camp/lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.
day 8:
Departure from Ngorongoro to Kilimanjaro Airport
Morning: Depart Ngorongoro Crater after breakfast. Journey: Head south-east past Lake Manyara and Mto wa Mbu village. Travel through the highlands and the Karatu district, viewing scenic wheat plains and coffee plantations before journeying down the spectacular escarpment. Turn south on the main road to Arusha. The journey will pass through the Masai Steppe, filled with many picturesque African villages, as well as maize, coffee, and banana plantations. Lunch: On arrival in Arusha, lunch is provided. Transfer: Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) to connect with your international departure flight. Optional Extension: Option to transfer to Arusha airport for a flight to Zanzibar, Mafia, or Pemba for a beach extension (at a supplement).
