Arrival in El SalvadorWelcome to El Salvador and transfer to your hotel. If you arrive in the morning or at midday, an optional visit to Sunset Park, located on the seafront, with available restaurants, will be offered to you.
day 2
San SalvadorAfter breakfast, guided tour of San Salvador: residential neighborhoods, Plaza Salvador del Mundo, relief map, El Rosario church, tomb of Monsignor Romero, government district, etc. Free time for lunch (not included). In the afternoon, visit to El Boquerón National Park, at the top of the San Salvador volcano, with beautiful views of the city. Overnight stay.
day 3
Joya de Cerén - Route of the Flowers - AtacoAt 8:30 am, we leave your hotel to visit the Mayan ruins of Joya de Cerén, the Pompeii of the Americas. This is a Mayan village that was covered by ash from a nearby volcano and preserved for centuries, until 1977. Next, we follow the road with beautiful views of the valleys and volcanoes. We reach the town of Izalco, founded by the Spanish and whose history is very interesting. We continue to Nahuizalco, famous for its handicrafts, then we stop at Salcoatitán to taste one of the local dishes made with yucca. We arrive at Ataco and have free time to explore the town.
day 4
Ataco - CopanAfter breakfast, you will have the opportunity to see and learn how coffee is produced. We will then continue to the northern border between Guatemala and Honduras and will arrive in the middle of the afternoon. Copán developed after the discovery of the ruins; it is now a must-see for all visitors to the region. Overnight stay.
day 5
Copan - Antigua GuatemalaAfter breakfast, your guide will take you to visit the Copan ruins, a UNESCO World Heritage site, as well as the museum. If time permits, you can ask to visit Las Sepulturas, a residential area of the Copan ruins. The remains of the city and the imposing public squares reveal three major periods of development before the city was abandoned at the beginning of the 9th century BC. Free time for lunch, then continue to Santa Ana, in El Salvador, to take the bus to Antigua, in Guatemala.
day 6
Antigua GuatemalaFree day. Discover Antigua Guatemala on your own, walk through its cobblestone streets full of history, explore the traditional markets, and admire the colonial buildings. Antigua was the capital of Central America for more than 200 years and it is the place where the independence of Central America from Spain was signed. Bring your camera, as this city has many spots to take the best photos for Instagram or for your album.
day 7
Antigua GuatemalaToday, you have a free day. You can take the optional tour of Chichicastenango and Panajachel. There, you will visit the Church of Saint Thomas, located on top of a Mayan pyramid, as well as the famous open-air market where you will find handicrafts, pottery, and textiles in the most varied shapes and colors. In the afternoon, you will visit one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, Lake Atitlan. Return to Antigua Guatemala. Overnight stay.
day 8
BackFree breakfast and morning. Room available until noon. Transfer to the airport 4 hours before departure. Flights must take place in the middle of the day or in the afternoon.
