This morning we leave for the North. We will make a diversion to visit one of Bali's must-see temples. The temple of Tanah Lot is said to have been built by Nirartha, a priest of the 10th century. A site certainly tourist, but which remains an important place of pilgrimage for the Balinese.

We then leave for a long walk of more than 3 hours in the heart of the Balinese nature, between the village of Belimbing and Jatiluwih. This region is classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. In the middle of this incredible landscape, immerse yourself by imagining the first explorers discovering the same panorama a few centuries earlier, preserved by the will of the population. More than a walk, we offer you a journey through time.

You will walk through magnificent rice fields, clove fields and your guide will take the opportunity to reveal to you all the secrets of rice, this plant which plays a leading role in the economy, gastronomy, but also in Balinese culture.

During this 3 hour walk, you will come across huge banyan trees several hundred years old, giant ferns, wild ginger and other spices. On the way back, you will cross the sacred waters of Lake Tamblingan in a traditional pirogue. An authentic adventure!

After this Balinese adventure, we will go to a traditional organic warung where we offer you a traditional cooking class. The chef will share his culinary secrets with us. Dishes concocted with rice, tofu and vegetables such as nasi kuning or gado gado (vegetarian dish). All the ingredients come from local agriculture.

Situated in the heart of northern Bali, you will discover the highest and most beautiful waterfalls in Bali: Sekumpul Falls. This magnificent set of 7 majestic, vertiginous waterfalls, located in the centre of the jungle, remains a rather confidential site which will require about 3/4 hours of walking to reach the foot of these impressive water columns.

This walk will also give you the opportunity to swim in natural streams and pools, to take sometimes barely marked paths and trails that cross rivers in a lush tropical forest.

In the middle of the day, it will be time to go back to civilization and reach the village of Lovina.

Night in Lovina

Day 5 : Snorkeling and Balinese massages (Optional)

Bordered by fine black sandy beaches, Lovina is a seaside resort in northern Bali that brings together seven villages into one city. Lovina offers you the opportunity to stay by the sea, with easy access to the mountains.

This morning we set out to sea with a traditional boat. Equipped with masks, flippers and snorkels, you will be able to snorkel in this beautiful marine garden, protected for its biodiversity, composed of corals and sandbanks conducive to the multiplication of fish of all shapes and colours.

At the end of the day, and as an option, we offer you the chance to discover the real Balinese massage, a know-how passed down from generation to generation. This ancestral practice allowing to reconnect the body to energy points is above all a social link which is part of the daily life of the Balinese people.

Today is a free day where everything is possible...

As an option and if you wish, we suggest you to discover the famous Dolphins of Lovina as this area also offers you the possibility to observe them in total freedom. Very early in the morning (around 5 am) you will take a seat on board a small local boat. Heading out to sea for your rendezvous with wild dolphins... They come off Lovina every morning (or almost every morning) to feed.

Today your guide will take you, as a first step, to discover the treasures of the kingdom of Karangasem. You will discover Tirta Gangga, meaning "holy water of the Ganges" in Balinese. This architectural ensemble, built in 1948 by the Raja of Karangasem, curiously combines Balinese and Chinese styles. The water garden, which covers an area of 1.2 hectares, consists of three areas. The first, situated below, houses two basins and a water tower. The second level has swimming pools where you can bathe. The royal residences, on the upper level, dominate the complex.

Just a few kilometres from Tirta Gangga, it is time to head to the Sidemen region for one of the most beautiful walks in Bali. We leave the village of Kastala for about 3 hours of immersion in the middle of the rice terraces, through small paths and improbable paths to reach the village of Tenganan.

Night at Candi Dasa

Day 8 : Rafting trip and discovery of the traditional market of Ubud

In the early morning, we leave for Sedimen, a region of Bali protected by several local associations which have managed to preserve the wild landscapes, the millenary rice fields and the jungle sheltering an ecosystem of giant ficus, bamboo forests and exotic plants.

It is in this cradle of nature that we offer you a new and unusual discovery, a rafting descent in the gorges of the Balinese torrents, great sensations in the middle of a preserved nature!

On arrival, a buffet with a wide choice of Indonesian dishes will be offered to you.

After this activity we will go to the oldest market of Ubud, this maze of small streets and balconies allows you to find local handicrafts and original souvenirs.

Departure well before dawn to conquer Mount Batur, the second highest active volcano on the island, which rises to over 1,700 m. Far from being a simple volcano, Mount Batur is the object of intense veneration by the Balinese. During your ascent, you can observe your guide's stops, offerings and prayers for the volcano.
It will take you about 2.5 hours to walk to the summit and enjoy a magnificent sunrise. The whole western part of Bali will appear before your eyes, you will see the fog dissipating over the fields, the horizon stretching to the Bukit peninsula, and if the sky is clear, you can even see the island of Nusa Penida.
After admiring this natural spectacle, take a short walk around the crater, and after breakfast, you will go back down. On the way, you will cross a lava field, the remains of the last eruption of the volcano, which in 1917 destroyed more than 65,000 houses.

We will return to the hotel for a free afternoon. You can enjoy the hotel, massages or go for a walk in Ubud.

We are not in the tourist route but in a discovery of an authentic Bali, in the very middle of the local life. It's a very beautiful walk in the heart of Bali that you will experience!
