    Rio de Janeiro

    Rio de Janeiro

Brazilian breakfast served at the hotel restaurant. In the morning, visit to Christ Corcovado. "Corcovado" is a distortion of the word "hunchback" in Portuguese to designate the mountain, which towers over Rio at 710 meters and on which stands the giant statue (38 m high, 28 m wide) of Christ the Redeemer, created by the French sculptor Paul Landowski. One of the most beautiful views of Rio... Unforgettable! Lunch at leisure. In the afternoon, visit to Sugarloaf Mountain, transfer and ascent by cable car. A true symbol protecting the entrance to Guanabara Bay, Sugarloaf Mountain towers over Rio at 395 meters and offers an exceptional panorama of the city: on one side, the coastline with the beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema, and Leblon and their perfect curves blessed by Christ the Redeemer, and on the other, Flamengo, downtown, the bay and, opposite, the city of Niteroi... Sugarloaf Mountain owes its name to the resemblance of its shape to a "sugarloaf", the form in which sugar was once presented. It was here that the brave Portuguese navigators arrived in January 1502, and, believing they had found the mouth of a river, named the site "River of January" or "Rio de Janeiro"! Optional: helicopter flight over the bay of Rio, an unforgettable experience. Return in the late afternoon to your hotel. Dinner at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
