While choosing this journey, you will be able to enjoy all highlights of Uzbekistan, from the easternmost region - the Fergana Valley to the western Khorezm, in just 8 days! Each day you will discover Uzbek heritage richness through special visits and activities. Experience local life of Uzbekistan by cooking local dishes, tasting local regional food, talking to local habitants, shopping at local bazaars, learning about arts and handicrafts and exploring historical heritage.

Day 1 : Exploring Tashkent

On arrival in Tashkent International Airport welcome reception by your local guide and transfer to the café for breakfast. Start exploring old part of the capital: visit Khazrat-i-Imam - the architectural ensemble which includes the Abu-Bakr-al-Kaffal Shanshi mausoleum, the Barak Khan madrasa, the Friday mosque and the Moyie Mubarek madrasa with the old Quran from the 7th century. The Chorsu market: the largest market in Uzbekistan, where under a large blue saucer are gathered all the country's products: fruits and vegetables, stalls astonishing by the abundance, volume, color and the unalterable patter of the sellers. Check-in hotel around 14:00. Later continue city tour: visit Monument of Courage and walk in the Independence Square, the Amir Temur Square and walk through the local Broadway.

Special activity: Discovering the underground wealth of Tashkent - a trip by metro with a visit to the most beautiful stations, decorated with marbel, mosaics, glass – unique art for the public service.

Day 2 : Train journey to the Fergana Valley

Early light breakfast in the hotel and transfer to the railway station for train to Kokand #060 (08:07 – 12:07). Kokand was the capital of the Khanate and has its special residence of ruler - Khudoyor Khan Palace. The 18th century Juma mosque, its iwan has 98 carved wooden pillars. They support the carved and painted wooden ceiling, which represents patterns of red, green, blue and yellow flowers.

Drive to Rishtan. Visit Pottery Workshop - where you see famous Rishtan's light blue ceramics. Rishtan artisans are renowned and have passed on their manufacturing secrets from generation to generation for over 8 centuries. Continue drive to Margilan (50km, 1h), upon arrival dinner & overnight in hotel.

Special Sightseeing: Khodja Ilgor’s mosque and mausoleum (XIX century), which are unusual in the shape (not having the analogs in Central Asia). Also walk through the colourful Bazar Mazaar Street full of unique ceramics.

Meals: Breakfast at hotel & Dinner in authentic Uzbek restaurant, where you can plunge into the atmosphere of an ordinary local dinner.

 




Day 3 : Exploration of Margilan then on to Khorezm

Breakfast at hotel and then visit Margilan - the center of silk production. Millions of meters of finest fabric are produced here each year. Visit Yodgorlik - the only factory of its kind in Central Asia and the largest factory for the production of hand-made silk products in Uzbekistan, which rightfully deserves world fame. You will follow the entire production process from the cocoon to the finished material and discovery of the weaving procedure of the famous atlas fabric, cocoons and winding. There are only few architectural sights of Margilan survived due to the earthquakes. Among them is the small asymmetrical Chakar Mosque. Transfer to Fergana airport for flight to Urgench HY-056 (14:05-15:45). Arrival in Urgench and transfer to Khiva (35 km, 45 min). Some time for rest at the hotel and first walk through the Ichan Kala - UNESCO World Heritage Centre - the inner town (protected by brick walls some 10 m high) of the old Khiva oasis. This place was the last resting-place of caravans before crossing the desert to Iran. Dinner and light evening promenade through the cobbled streets.

Interesting fact: The thread is 429 m long and is only 1 g of silk. And 1 square meter of such fabric weighs only 17 g.

Meals: Breakfast at hotel & Dinner with Khiva delicacy-Shivit oshi. A bright, colorful dish, about which the locals pass on from generation-to-generation legends about the beneficial properties of this dish.




Day 4 : Exploration of Khiva

After breakfast start walking tour. Khiva it is an open-air museum, so today we will devote the whole day to the study of architectural monuments. One listing of all buildings will not let you doubt that during the tour you will be transported into the life of the Khiva Khanate of the past centuries. Visit Kunya-Ark "old fortress", caravanserai Kurnych-Khana, the Mukhammad Rakhim Khan madrasah and the Seid Alauddin mausoleum. The Muhammed Rakhim Khan Madrasah and the Islam-Khodja Madrasah with its minaret 44.5m high and 9.5 in diameter, the tallest minaret in Khiva. The Tash-Khauli Palace, with its harem, its reception rooms, and its Court of Justice, is a real maze where Allakouli Khan and his extravagant entourage lived. Ala-Khuli Palace, "the stone palace", the second residence of the khans of Khiva. Then: The Ala-Khuli Khan madrassah, Kalta Minor, mausoleum of Sayid Alaoudin and the Juma Mosque is the main mosque of Khiva, it has 218 columns of carved wood. Behind the Juma mosque rises the most remarkable architectural monument of Khiva: the mausoleum of Pakhlavan-Makhmud.

Special activity: You will have an opportunity to ascent to the terrasse of the Ak-Cheikh-Bobo tower, which offers a magnificent panoramic view of the whole city and enjoy the sunset. Then have a glass of local sparkling wine at one of the terraces.

Meals: Breakfast at hotel & Dinner with cooking demonstration of Tukhum-barak dish, which is prepared only in Khorezm. They say that this dish was the Khan's "secret weapon" which he ate before visiting his harem.




Day 5 : Desert trip to Bukhara

Breakfast at the hotel and depart to Bukhara (480 km, 7-8 hours). Journey via the long steppe road through the famous Kyzyl Kum (Red Sands Desert). The road runs alongside Amudaria river. We will stop on the shore to take photos and enjoy nature. For lunch, we will stop at typicla road tea house. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and rest.

Special visit: In the afternoon enjoy aromatic teas in retro Tea House, which is a good place to relax, surrounded by wonderful teas and spices aromas.

Meals: Breakfast at hotel & Lunch in typical chaykhana with delicious kebabs

 




Day 6 : Explore Bukhara

After breakfast, explore Bukhara which is over 2500 years. Visit Ismail Samani's Mausoleum, one of the oldest monuments in the world in memory of Muslim figures, the Chashma Ayub mausoleum and the Ark fortress, symbol of the Emirate of Bukhara. The Bolo-Khauz ensemble includes a mosque, which is in front of the Citadel, on the other side of the square, with its twenty columns of an unusual height (12.5 m), the iwan is not lacking of elegance. The Poi-Kalon complex with its minaret, Lyabi-Khauz complex and Maghoki Attori mosque. Shopping in the trade domes of old city.

Special Sightseeing: Hidden inside the narrow residential streets the Chor-Minor Madrassah. It is characterized by a perfect silhouette, elegance and unusual shapes, compactness and splendor. After dinner guided night-walk in lighted Bukhara.

Day 7 : Travel to Samarkand via Gijduvan

Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Gijduvan village (60 km) - the only surviving center of polychrome glazed ceramics in the region. Visiting the pottery workshop of Mr. Narzullaev, who was one of the most famous ceramists of Uzbekistan and the founder of the Gijduvan school of ceramics, it is distinguished by the use of geometric shapes, as well as plant themes, birds and flowers in ornaments. Then continue drive to Samarkand (210 km, 3 hrs). On arrival leave baggage at the hotel & the first acquaitance with magical oriental city. Registan Square - it is one of the most beautiful squares in the world, with its splendid madrasah of Ulugbek, Shir-Dor, extraordinary construction that mixes Islam with reminiscences of Zoroastrianism, as well as Tilla-Kari, decorated with blue ceramic tiles. The Registan, the official center of the Timurid Empire, is the most grandiose complex in Central Asia. In the 15th century, it was a commercial, craft, cultural and religious center, the crossroads of the capital of Tamerlan.

Special Sightseeing: Sardoba Malik a reservoir 13 meters deep, covered with a dome 12 meters in diameter, dating back to 11th century. Being on the caravan road, it served as a source of drinking water for passing travelers and caravans.

Day 8 : Explore Samarkand and travel by train to Tashkent

After breakfast, continue discovery of Samarkand: The Gur-Emir or "Tomb of the Emir", the most famous monument of Samarkand and symbol of the city. The Ulugbek Observatory: this construction was in the 15th century. unique in the world. It was a gigantic astronomical instrument in the form of a circular building 48 m in diameter, the center lines of which corresponded to the four cardinal points on the meridian of Samarkand. A small museum allows you to follow the evolution of astronomical discoveries with a set of well-documented maps, portraits, old books. The Bibi-Khanym Mosque, built in 1399 by order of Tamerlane, and once the most important religious building in all of Central Asia. Shopping in Syob - the large market behind the complex. The Shakhi-Zinda necropolis, made up of more than 11 mausoleums, is the most imposing and picturesque masterpiece among the architectural monuments of Samarkand. Transfer to the station. Departure for Tashkent by Afrosiyob fast train (17:28-19:40 or 18:00 - 20:10). Upon arrival dinner, visit the Mosque Minor (outside) and transfer to the airport for the departure flight.

Spesial visite: Happy Bird Art Gallery. Locals and visitors called gallery as «cave of Ali Baba» due to the abundance of local artifacts: carpets, pottery, unique Suzanne, decorations for every taste, paintings, and statues.

Special Sightseeing: One of the newest sights of the city - the snow white Mosque Minor. Opened in 2014 in a picturesque landscaped place near the embankment of the Ankhor channel, like the Taj Mahal is reflected in its waters.
