Day 1 : ARRIVAL IN BOGOTA

Bogotá, is perched at an altitude of 2600 m in the heart of the Andes mountain range. With its 9,000,000 inhabitants, it is the political, economic and cultural capital of the country. It is a cosmopolitan city with a vibrant cultural life. It is also one of the most important centres of Latin American gastronomy. The Candelaria district: A haven of peace. An island in the centre of the capital with its narrow streets to stroll through and its colonial buildings with a nonchalant look.

Upon arrival at the airport you will be met by a driver from Colombia Autentica.

Day 2 : BOGOTA

Explore the capital in complete freedom. A day's walk through Bogotá's historic centre. Very lively and cultural district where many artists live. Visit the fabulous Gold Museum, the Botero Foundation and Simon Bolivar Square. Ascent of Mount Serrata by cable car with a breathtaking view of the city of Bogotá.

Day 3 : Departure to Amazonia

Private transfer to Bogota airport and flight to Leticia
On arrival at the airport you will be met by a local guide from the Calanoa Reserve.

You will travel up the Amazon River for an hour before reaching the Calanoa Nature Reserve in the heart of the Amazon jungle.

During your stay in the Calanoa Reserve, you will have a local guide at your disposal all day long. You will discover the Amazonian jungle through numerous activities (kayak tour, observation of the fauna and flora, jungle trekking, visit of an Indian village, piranha fishing...). You will be accommodated in one of the most beautiful ecolodge in Colombia in the heart of the Amazon jungle.

During your stay in the Calanoa Reserve, you will have a local guide at your disposal all day long. You will discover the Amazonian jungle through numerous activities (kayak tour, observation of the fauna and flora, jungle trekking, visit of an Indian village, piranha fishing...). Your guide will take you to Leticia Airport. Flight to Pereira with a stopover in Bogota.
Private transfer from Pereira to the small village of Salento.

Salento is a beautiful village with the typical architectural style of the coffee triangle. Here you will discover a warm and proud people as well as the history of coffee farming. From Salento you can go on excursions to the Cocora Valley.

Day 7 : COCORA VALLEY AND ACAIME RESERVE

The Cocora Valley is a beautiful valley located in the heart of the "zona cafetera". It is home to a tree that is the symbol of Colombia and endemic to this valley: the Palma de Cera, a very tall, century-old palm tree. You will discover this beautiful valley during a hike that will take you to the Acaime reserve where you will observe hummingbirds and enjoy a good coffee.

Day 8 : Discovery of the culture of the coffee zone hosted by a producer family

You will spend two days immersed in the daily life of a coffee-growing family housed in a traditional farm. Duwi and his family will welcome you into their home as friends and introduce you to their region and culture. You will discover the art of growing coffee, visit a traditional market, the coffee cooperative of Manizales and the small village of La Cuchilla del Salado. You will take a beautiful walk through the beautiful and hilly landscapes of the coffee area, play Tejo (a local kind of petanque) with your hosts, learn how to cook Tamal, a typical dish of the region in a cooking workshop and have a good time sharing and exchanging with Duwi and his family.

Guided tour of Medellin with a local English speaking guide. You will visit the historical centre, the Botero square and the Comuna 13, symbol of the renewal of the city. You will have lunch with a family from Comuna 13 for a real meeting with the locals.

Day 12 : Guatape and El Penol

Guatape is one of the most beautiful small villages in the coffee zone. With its colourful little wooden houses, it has a childlike charm. You will also visit the Peñol rock, an enormous boulder in the middle of the valley. After climbing the 700 steps that separate you from the summit you will have a breathtaking view of the lake and the valley.

Day 13 : Cartagena de Indias

Cartagena de Indias is a fantastic city that bewitches the traveller and tells him the secrets of colonial history and piracy. The many churches that stand inside the old town remind us of the greatness of its past history.
