In this trip you will discover the Amazonian forest off the beaten track, you will stay on the shores of the Piranha Lake in a floating hut with a local family. Your trip will then take you to the deserted beach of Juan de Dios in the Colombian Pacific in the heart of the Bahia Malaga Natural Park.

Day 1 : Day 1: Arrival in Bogota

Bogotá is perched at an altitude of 2,600 m in the heart of the Andes. With its 9,000,000 inhabitants, it is the political, economic and cultural capital of the country. It is a cosmopolitan city with a vibrant cultural life. It is also one of the most important places for gastronomy. The Candelaria district is a haven of peace, an island in the centre of the capital with its narrow streets and nonchalant colonial buildings.

On arrival at the airport you will be met by your tour guide.

Day 2 : Day 2: Visit Bogota

Discover the capital with your guide. A day of walking through the historical centre of Bogotá. Very lively and cultural district where many artists live. Visit the fabulous Gold Museum, the Botero Foundation and Simon Bolivar Square. Ascent of Mount Serrate by cable car where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city of Bogotá.

Day 3 : Day 3: Ganboa Nature Reserve

Private transfer to Bogota airport and flight to Leticia
Private transfer (taxi and boat) to the Gamboa reserve
You will travel up the Amazon River for one hour before reaching the Gamboa Nature Reserve in the heart of the Amazon jungle with a local guide.

Day 4 : Day 4 and 5: In the heart of the Amazon

During your stay in the Gamboa reserve, you will have a local guide at your disposal all day long. You will discover the Amazonian jungle through many activities (kayak tour on the lake, fauna and flora observation, jungle trekking, visit of an Indian village, piranha fishing...). In the evening you will sleep on a floating cabin on the Piraña lake in the heart of the Gamboa nature reserve hosted by a local family.

Day 5 : Day 6: Head to Cali, the capital of salsa

In the morning you will visit, accompanied by your local guide, the village of Leticia and you will cross the border to visit the village of Tabatinga in Brazil.

Private land transfer to the port of Buenaventura and then community boat to Juan de Dios Beach

The eco-hostel de Juan de Dios is part of an environmental protection and wildlife conservation project. Located in the heart of the Bahia de Malaga Natural Park near Buenaventura, it is a small natural paradise where the tropical jungle flows into the Pacific Ocean. There is no electricity or running water to encourage communion with the wild nature of this Pacific region. You will discover a small fishing village, hike through the lush nature of the Pacific coast, discover the Sierpe waterfall and the bay of malaga, on a boat trip and whale watching (in season).

Transfer by community boat from Juan de Dios beach to the port of Buenaventura and private transfer to Cali.

Day 8 : Day 10: Salento and the Cocora Valley

Salento is a beautiful village with the typical architectural style of the coffee triangle. Here you will discover a warm and proud people and the history of coffee farming. The excursions to the Cocora valley start from Salento.

In the afternoon you will visit the colourful village of Salento and the mirador from where you will have a breathtaking view of the whole valley.

Day 9 : Day 11: Cocora Valley and Acaime Reserve

The Cocora Valley is a beautiful valley located in the heart of the Zona Cafetera. It shelters a tree symbol of Colombia and endemic of this valley: the palma de cerra, a very high and centenary palm tree. You will discover this superb valley during a hike which will lead you to the Acaime reserve where you will observe the hummingbirds and taste a good coffee.

Day 10 : Day 12: Cartagena, the pearl of the Caribbean

Cartagena de Indias is a fantastic city that bewitches the traveller and tells him the secrets of colonial history and piracy. The many churches that stand in the old city remind us of the grandeur of its past history. At nightfall Cartagena takes on a romantic atmosphere and it is pleasant to stroll through its streets carried by the sea breeze.

Day 13 : Day 15: Tayrona Park

Tayrona Park is a magical place, full of history and legends, with an incredible biodiversity. Located 34km from the city of Santa Marta, it is one of the most important natural parks in Colombia. Inhabited by the Tayrona Indians, an ethnic group native to the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, it is the link between the mountain range and the Caribbean Sea. Its wildly beautiful white sand beaches invite you to relax. The numerous footpaths that cross the park allow the discovery of an incredibly rich fauna and flora.
