We will meet you at the airport before taking you to your first accommodation in the city of Alajuela. This short trip will allow us to give you your travel journal and your local SIM card. 1 night in Alajuela.




Day 2 : Alajuela - Bajos del Toro (1h30)

After picking up your rental vehicle or getting to know your driver guide, you will drive to the Bajos del Toro region. In the afternoon, a hike will take you to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country with turquoise blue waters. 1 night in Bajos del Toro.




Day 3 : Bajos del Toro - Cano Negro (2h30)

Departure for the national wildlife refuge of Caño Negro. At nightfall, a naturalist guide will accompany you on a night walk through the jaguar territory. 2 nights at Caño Negro.




Day 4 : Cano Negro

In the early morning, embark with your guide to discover the amazing flora and fauna of this humid region in the north of the country.




Day 5 : Cano Negro - Monteverde (3h30)

Departure for the Monteverde region famous for preserving one of the last primary cloud forests in the world. This forest houses alone 2.5% of the planet's biodiversity! 2 nights in Monteverde.

In the early morning, a guided tour of a reserve is organized to help you discover the natural history of the region. In the afternoon, a walk on suspension bridges will allow you to observe this exuberant biodiversity up close.




Day 7 : Monteverde - Uvita (3h30)

Departure for the Pacific coast and its paradisiacal beaches, a perfect destination to rest after this first week of discovery. 2 nights in Uvita.

Day in the Marino Ballena National Park to discover the terrestrial and marine ecosystems of the South Pacific region.




Day 9 : Uvita - Sierpe - Drake (2h30)

Early departure for Sierpe where you will leave your vehicle in a guarded parking lot before boarding for Drake. This hour-long boat trip is an integral part of the adventure as it allows you to discover the mangroves of Terraba-Sierpe. 3 nights at Drake.




Day 10 : Drake - Corcovado

Guided day hike in Corcovado National Park, world famous for hosting 2.5% of the planet's biodiversity alone. Scarlet macaws, tapirs, monkeys, reptiles and many other species are easily observed here.

 




Day 11 : Drake - Isla del Cano

Embark to Isla del Caño where you will snorkel in crystal clear water, an idyllic setting to observe the South Pacific marine ecosystem. A tropical picnic under the coconut trees is organized on a beach.




Day 12 : Drake - Sierpe - Orosi (5h00)

Early departure for Sierpe, recovery of the vehicle and departure for Orosi in the central valley. At more than 3200m of altitude, you will cross the Cerro de la Muerte pass offering splendid landscapes. 3 nights in Orosi.

Visit of an ecological farm in Orosi where one of the best coffees in the world is produced.

Morning visit to Volcan Irazú National Park, the highest active volcano in the country. A relaxing afternoon is planned in the thermal springs of Orosi.
