Welcome at the Tocumen International Airport in Panama City.

First contact with the country and then your driver will take you to your hotel.

Day 2 : Panama city - Miraflores Locks - Panama city

Your driver will pick you up for a one-day city tour of Panama City.

First stop is Panama La Vieja, which was the first capital of the country before being destroyed by the famous pirate Henry Morgan.

Then it's on to the Panama Canal and the Miraflores Locks. The visitors' centre offers a bird's eye view of all kinds of ships in transit (container ships, liners or tiny sailing ships...).

There are also exhibitions on the history of the construction of the locks and how they work.

Afterwards, you will go to the Casco Antiguo. This bohemian district plunges you into the country's historical past, between typical alleys and colourful buildings that lead to the Place de France.

Discover the art-deco architecture and the cathedral.

In the late afternoon, transfer to the hotel.

Note 1: Panama La Vieja site closed on Mondays.

Note 2: The visit to the Miraflores locks is scheduled according to the boat passage schedule.

Day 3 : Panama city - Embera community - Gamboa

Early in the morning, your driver will pick you up from your hotel for a transfer to the Embera Indians near the banks of the Rio Chagres, where a community representative will be waiting for you.

This day is dedicated to meeting the Embera Quera.

You will go to the pier of the Rio Gatún, from where you will take a motorboat to one of the villages of the community.

On the other side of the river you will be welcomed by the cacique (spiritual leader) and the children of the village. Throughout the day you will learn about their way of life and traditions, including the art of tattooing.

You will also have the opportunity to be introduced to their knowledge of medicinal plants and to attend a performance of ancestral dances and then go to a small island to observe the monkeys.

Finally, a typical fish meal will be served in banana leaves.

In the afternoon, your driver will pick you up at the pier and drive you to Gamboa.

Day 4 : Lake Gatun - Gamboa

Head for the Gamboa lake where you will embark on the "Monkey Lodge II" boat for a navigation on the canal as close as possible to the ships in transit between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

You will approach some islands inhabited by different species of monkeys, including the famous capuchin monkeys that live in the region.

The day will continue by kayak for a more leisurely ride through the meandering Gatun Lake. You will go up to the source of one of these meanders to bathe and discover the surrounding lush nature. For those who wish, you can fish and cook your fish over a wood fire. A discovery of the canal as you would never imagine!

Duration: approximately 8 hours.

Day 5 : Gamboa - Albrook Airport - Bocas del Toro Airport - Bocas del Toro

Transfer from Gamboa to Gelabert (Albrook) airport.

Flight to the archipelago of Bocas del Toro, in the Atlantic Ocean.

Note: Please note that the weight of luggage is limited (approximately 14 kg per person for the hold luggage and 2 kg for the cabin luggage). There is an additional charge of $3 per kilo.

Arrival in Bocas del Toro and check-in at the hotel.

Day 6 : Bocas del Toro

You start the day with snorkeling at Punta Hospital, before heading to the island of Bastimentos to watch dolphins at Bahia Honda.

You then walk through a channel inside the mangrove for about 20 minutes (it is possible to observe sloths, caimans and different species of birds), then meet the local guide for a short jungle hike of about 20 minutes. You can see red tree frogs, sloths and sometimes monkeys along the way.

You then enter the cave where you can observe several species of bats on the roofs and explore the cave to a small natural pool.

Note: possibility of a typical meal made with local products at a cost of US$ 7 per person (not included).

Times: 9am to 2pm (or 10am to 3pm)

Day 7 : Isla Bastimientos - Bocas del Toro

Discover the northern part of Isla Colón, where you first go to the Bird Island.

You then descend to Boca del Drago for a short walk where you can discover the beautiful scenery along the beach.

Free time to enjoy the beach at Playa Estrella for approximately 3 hours.

Option to have lunch in local restaurants (not included). You end the day with a snorkeling activity.

Time: 10am to 4pm
