One week tour in b&b in hotels and 1 week relaxing stay in residence or self-catering.  

Itinerary: Palermo, Agrigento, Baroque Sicily, Etna and the Aeolian Islands, followed by a relaxing week at the beach in the region of Taormina or Cefalù.

Possibility to do the relaxing week on one of the Aeolian Islands for an optimal disconnection

To combine a discovery tour with a relaxing stay, this combination is ideal for those who wish to discover the essentials of Sicily with a week of relaxation in a residence.

You will be able to visit the major sites without running, explore the contrasting regions of the largest island in the Mediterranean and take the time to enjoy the sea, local life and the many protected natural areas in a residence or self-catering accommodation.  

We propose a week's itinerary from Palermo, Agrigento, to Baroque Sicily, passing by Etna and the Aeolian Islands, followed by a relaxing week at the beach in the region of Taormina or Cefalù.

Exploration of Western Sicily with a visit to the medieval village of Erice, perched in an eagle's nest above Trapani.  Visit of Segeste and its splendid Doric temple. Road to Agrigento. Possibility of a walk from your hotel to the natural site of the Scala dei Turchi, a huge cliff of white marl that juts out into the sea.

 Overnight stay in Agrigento.




Day 3 : The Valley of the Temples and Piazza Armerina

The morning can be devoted to a visit to the Temple Valley, a magnificent Greek site with six temples set in a valley of almond trees. It is possible to book a guide for 2 hours. You can complete the visit with a visit to the museum to discover the collections of Greek statues and colossi...Drive to Piazza Armerina for a visit to the Villa Romana del Casale with its 4,000 m² of mosaics that tell us about ancient Rome. Continuation to Caltagirone, the capital of ceramics in Sicily for almost 3000 years; then the unusual village of Palazzolo Acreidi, an ancient Greek and Roman city. Settling in for 1 night in a typical Sicilian farmhouse.

Day 4 : Baroque Sicily

Discover the so-called Baroque Sicily, dotted with cities of art and exuberant architecture, this itinerary has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. Stroll through the jewel cities of Baroque architecture, Ragusa, Noto, stop in the fishing village of Marzamemmi for a raw fish lunch experience ....this region is one of the most surprising and fascinating in Southern Italy. Check in at the end of the day at a hotel in the Syracuse area.

Visit to the archaeological site of Neapolis, the remains of the most powerful Greek city in the Mediterranean: the theatre, the agora, the Latomies, marble quarries. You can spend the rest of the day in the historical centre, the peninsula of Ortigia: the Maniace fort, the cathedral built on a Greek temple, the painting of Caravaggio. Enjoy the "dolce vita" atmosphere of Syracuse for an evening at the restaurant on the terraces and the Aretusa fountain.

Morning departure for the Ionian coast. Stop in Catania, visit of the city, economic and cultural capital of Sicily, including a stroll on the famous fish market. You can follow the Cyclops coast with its medieval villages interspersed with large lava rock flows. Then the cornice of Taormina, one of the most beautiful bays in the Mediterranean. In the afternoon, visit of the pretty seaside resort called "Ionian Pearl". At the end of the day, you will settle in a seaside village near Taormina.

Day 7 : Etna

Early departure to reach Mount Etna with the possibility to climb to 12,900 m by cable car + jeep x4 (optional). Or environmental discovery with an excursion on foot on the northern flanks, a short hike around the large historical flows. Stroll along the cornice roads and beaches of Isola Belle. 

Relaxation and overnight in Taormina (or Giare)

Spend 8 days / 7 nights in a seaside rental or residence for a relaxing week. From your accommodation you can easily reach the picturesque village of Cefalù.

You will be able to visit Palermo, the Madonie Mountains and possibly take an excursion to the Aeolian Islands.
