Day 2 : AMMAN - THE CASTLES OF THE DESERT - AMMAN



After breakfast Departure to the east desert to visit the Desert Castles : Qasr Al Kharraneh, Qasr Amra and Qasr Al Hallabet, built by the Omayyad Caliphs of Damascus in the 8th century AD as hunting lodges. Wildly varied in architectural style. After lunch. Back to Amman. Visit the old Town off Amman with its Roman Theater and Citadel. The ancient and modern capital of Jordan, originally built on seven hills and from the top of the citadel, one of the highest hills, you can
have a splendid view of the old city. Dinner at Tawaheen Alhoa a former caravanserai restored became a meeting place between Jordanian families. Over-night at the hotel.

Day 3 : AMMAN - JARASH - AJLOUN - UM QAIS - AMMAN



Departure to visit the splendidly preserved Greco-Roman city of Jarash,

Jarash is one of the most important and best preserved Roman city of the Decapolis. It is also known as the Pompeii of the east. Road through the pine forests and olive groves until to the fortress of Ajloun.(Qa'lat Al Rabaht) overlooking the Jordan Valley It was built in 1184 by Izz al-Din Usama, a general in the army of Saladin. The castle controlled traffic along the road connecting Damascus and Egypt. Road to visit Um Qais Historically known as Gadara, Um Qais is one of Jordan's most unique Greco Roman Decapolis sites. Tucked away in the black basalt hillside, at a height of 378 meters above sea level, Um Qais offers an incomparable panoramic view offers incomparable panoramic views over the northern Jordan valley, the Sea of Galilee (Lake Tiberius), the Yarmouk Gorge and the Golan Heights. On a clear day, snow topped Mount Hermon is visible. Drive to Amman. Dinner and overnight at the hotel-Amman.

Day 4 : AMMAN - AL SALT - BETHANY - DEAD SEA



After Breakfast at the hotel. Morning visit of The Royal Automobile Museum home to a collection of cars and motorbikes owned by King Abdullah I, King Talal and King Hussein of Jordan. After the visit of The Royal Automobile Museum you have a chance to stopover and visit Al Salt city, the former capital of Jordan; Al-Salt maintains an authentic society based on affection, brotherhood, and love. The mountainside city also has significant historical relevance, mot notably, as the regional capital of the Ottoman Empire. The road take us along the shore of the Dead Sea to visit Bethany : The site of John the Baptists, at Bethany beyond the Jordan. Where Jesus was baptized. After the visit we depart to the Dead Sea, the lowest point in the world (- 432 meters), flooded by a blinding light. Free time for swimming and relaxing. Dinner and overnight at the hotel- Dead Sea.

Day 5 : DEAD SEA - MONT NEBO - MADABA - MA'IN



After breakfast, visit of Madaba, the city of mosaics, known for its spectacular Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics. Madaba is home to the famous mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land dating back to the 6th century. With its two million tiles carved from colorful local stones, this map represents the hills, valleys, towns and villages of the region as far as the Nile Delta. Other mosaic masterpieces have been found in the Church of the Virgin and Apostles and in the Archaeological Park and Museum,depicting a profusion of flowers and plants, birds, fish and animals, as well as scenes inspired by mythology or daily activities related to hunting, fishing and farming. There are hundreds of other mosaics dated between the 5th and 7th centuries, scattered throughout the churches and homes of Madaba. Thereafter, there will be a visit to Madaba’s mosaic school (a unique school that trains craftsmen in the art of making, repairing and restoring mosaics, based on techniques that date back thousands of years). Finally, enjoy the visit of Mount Nebo, which offers a spectacular view of the Holy Land. Here you will find the memorial of Moses and the place from which it is believed that he discovered the Holy Land. We drive to Ma'in Hot Springs, Jordan's most famous hyperthermic waterfalls (Hammamet Ma'in) and free time to admire the beauty of this oasis in the desert. Dinner and night in Ma’in.

Day 6 : MA'IN - MUJIB CANYON - KERAK - DANA



Breakfast and departure for the Mujib Canyon*: adventure walks in Wadi Mujib are nothing short of enthralling. Amix of Sandstone Mountains and low drops, the excursion promises to take visitors through various elevations and views. Whether you prefer a simple stroll or something challenging, the wild and lively area of Wadi Mujib, with its warm and colorful terrain is perfect for climbers and nature lovers. It boasts several trails to cater to every preference (duration 3 hours).

Then, drive to visit Kerak castle, an ancient Crusader stronghold, Kerak sits 900m above sea level and lies inside the walls of the old city.

Late afternoon departure for the Dana reserve. Dinner and night in Dana.

* Canyon closed after the first rain of the year (usually around November 10th-15th until April 15th)
* If the canyon is closed you can enjoy your morning at the Ma'in hot springs.

 




Day 7 : DANA - SHOBAK - LITTLE PETRA - PETRA



Breakfast and departure with your Bedouin guide for Shaq Al Reesh trail, the trail offers breathtaking views of the canyon-like Wadi (duration 3 hours). Departure to visit castle of Shobak located 30 kilometres south of Dana, Shobak is an imposing fortified building perched on top of a hill with commanding views on every side. Off the beaten path, visitors remain impressed by the view of its remains surrounded by a remote and wild landscape.

After the visit of this castle drive to visit Little Petra (after or before your visit to Petra, plan a short trip to the nearby Al-Beida. This area is located at only ten-minute drive north of Petra and hosts two important highlights of Petra Archaeological Park : The Beida Neolithic Village and Little Petra. Dinner and overnight at the hotel-Petra.

Day 8 : PETRA



2 days dedicated to visiting the “Red-Rose City” of Petra, a unique place, built 2,600 years ago by the Nabataeans who carved monumental tombs, stairs, palaces and temples in the naturally red colored rock. Built at the base of the Wadi Mousa gorges, the city is one of the treasures of the Middle East. Visit of the site: The Treasury (the Khazneh), the Theater, the Royal Tombs, the High Place of Sacrifice, the Lower Town with its Roman theater carved into the rock, the Deir ... Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 9 : PETRA

Day 10 : PETRA - WADI RUM



Another great day has been planned! Leaving Petra focus on the timeless and unspoiled Wadi Rum, one of the world's most outstanding desert landscapes where monolithic mountains of sandstone and granite rise out of the rose-red desert sand creating a magnificent scene. Lying 120 Kms. south of Petra and 68 Kms. north of Aqaba, Wadi Rum is the classic picture of a sandy desert with sandstone hills rising sheer out of the valley floor. There are many ways to explore this unspoiled desert retreat. It is the ideal location for hiking, climbing and trekking. The scenery here has not changed since Colonel T.E. Lawrence’s time. Wadi Rum is still one of the most striking natural landscapes in the world. Enjoy a Bedouin 4x4 jeep ride inside the Wadi (duration 5-6 hours). Diner and camp under the stars.

Day 11 : WADI RUM (SIQ ALBARRAH - BURDAH)



For this second day in the desert, we hike south to the mountain of Jebel Burdah and its monumental arch: this rocky bridge is considered one of the tallest natural arches in the world. Ascent of the djebel (about 3h30 round trip) to the arch. On the way back down, the tea and cookies will be waiting for you. In the afternoon 2 to 3 hours of hilking to reach the camp. Installation of the camp away from the tourist.

 

 Trek : 5 to 6 hours

Day 12 : WADI RUM (BURDAH - WADI UM ISHREEN - ANFASHIEH - ALDISI)



Morning hike through the dunes of Um Sabatah. This 3rd day in Wadi Rum desert continues via Wadi Um Ishreen and the inscriptions of Anfashieh mountain. This mountain is famous for its ancient inscriptions, which are remarkably well preserved. Anfashieh has many thamudic and Nabatean inscriptions of animals, most likely left by the freight caravans on their way to Petra. Dinner and night at the camp.

 

 Trek : 5 to 6 hours

Day 13 : WADI RUM - AQABA



Breakfast, then Transfer to Aqaba, the day is free-day to enjoy this charming little city shaded by palm trees and pristine sandy beaches or to discover the coral reefs considered by divers to be the richest in the world. All you need is a diving mask. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Aqaba.

Day 14 : AQABA



Free-day at leisure in Aqaba. Those interested in snorkeling can do so at one of the world's best conserved coral reefs. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
