Trip description

The journey to the south-east of Morocco and its thousand faces begins with the crossing of the high and anti atlas. Then follows the longest valley in Morocco, the Draa valley
Draa valley and its thousand kasbahs to the other side of Morocco where the sea of sand begins.
On the trail of the Paris Dakar, we will start this magical trek in the middle of the desert which presents the different cultures and traditions of the Ait Atta Berber and Saharawi Arab.

Arrival in Ouarzazate and transfer to your hotel.




Day 2 : Ouarzazate - Mhamid - Ras-Nkhal

Early morning departure to join M'Hamid, the gateway to the Moroccan desert by crossing the Moroccan anti Atlas by the Tifntite pass 1700 m alt. Then, descent of the Draa valley and the thousand kasbahs, to join the last oasis before the desert by passing by Tamgroute, a village where pottery is made. Possibility of a visit then departure to join M'Hamid. Lunch at the inhabitant's and in the afternoon, join the starting point for our hike and meet our team of camel drivers. Musical evening around the fire, night in the bivouac under the tent or under the stars.




Day 3 : Zouia - Erg Zmaila (4h-6h walking)

Departure after breakfast for Erg Zmaila, lunch in the shade of the Tamaris. Then on our way to the bivouac place in the middle of the sand dunes for a night under the stars or under the tent. Evening around the fire with music to the rhythm of the nomads.




Day 4 : Erg Zmaila - Sidi Aamar - Erg Zahar (4h-6h walking)

After breakfast we cross the sea of sand to arrive at Erg ZAHAR, a large dune dominating the most beautiful part of the Moroccan desert. Lunch on the spot then enjoy the afternoon in this magical place and quietly climb to the big dune to watch the sunset, then night and evening around the fire and sand bread.




Day 5 : Erg Zahar - Erg Esssmar (4h walk)

After breakfast at Erg Zahar we leave this magical desert to reach Erg ESSMAR, the former village of M'Hamid, inhabited in the 1970s, it is now an abandoned village. We have lunch there and then half a day free to shower at the well. Overnight at Erg Essmar.




Day 6 : Erg Essmar - Erg Ait ounir (4h-6h walking)

After breakfast we leave Erg Ait Ounir and reach Ras Nkhal.
We go up the Draa valley to Boughabra and have lunch there. After lunch, we join the bivouac at Erg Ait Ounir. Night lulled by the atmosphere of nomadic songs, sand bread.




Day 7 : Erg Ait Ounir - Erg Lbour (4h walk)

After breakfast, departure to join Erg Lbour, on the other side of the Draa valley, lunch under the shade of tamarisk. Then departure to join the evening bivouac at Erg Lbour, entertainment and sand bread.




Day 8 : Erg Lbour - Ras Nkhal (4h -6h a pie)

After breakfast, departure to join M'Hamid quietly through the small tamarisk forest to reach the bivouac point near M'Hamid. Evening around the fire and this is your last evening with the camel team.




Day 9 : Ras Nkhal - Mhamid - Zagora - Ouarzazate

We leave M'Hamid and the Moroccan desert to reach Ouarzazate quietly. Lunch in Zagora then departure after the meal to join Ouarzazate. Night at the hotel.
