The south of the Vercors from Trièves to Mont Aiguille

We meet you in Chichilianne, a charming little village in the Trièves, dominated by the famous Mont Aiguille peak, pride of the Dauphiné. Installation at a castle-hotel with a swimming pool and close to heart of the village.

Today, you leave Chichilianne in the direction of a first hamlet, Ruthière, then a second one, Trésane, before starting the ascent to the Papavet pass at 1245 meters and its splendid viewpoint on the Mont Aiguille. Then, you cross the Bathie, another small hamlet, before climbing again to reach the 1352 meters of the Allimas pass. In the last part of today's stage, you reach Gresse-en-Vercors, a village dominated by the Grand Veymont and the Vercors most beautiful cliffs.

For this stage, you have the choice between two hikes:

- Hike until the gate of the Vercors Highlands, the Pas de la Ville.

- The Grand Veymont summit and its 2,341 meters of altitude, the Vercors highest peak, which offers superb panoramas on the Trièves region, the Alps and the Vercors Highlands.

You leave Gresse-en-Vercors and reach the Aupet pass and the Mont Aiguille western side before reaching the hamlet of Richardière.

After a splendid ascent towards the Pas de l'Aiguille, you reach the Chaumailloux shelter and then the Pas de la Chèvrerie. You then reach the Chamousset sheepfold and the Combeau valley before reaching the small village of Les Nonnières.

Two beautiful hikes are proposed to you today:

- a hike to the sumptuous Archiane cirque through the typical Provencal village of Bénevise before returning to Les Nonnières.

- The Mount Barral ascension, which culminates at 1903 metres and offers beautiful panoramas of the Diois and the Dévoluy. 

In this last stage, you reach Chichilianne via the Col de Menée (1457m) and the Col du Prayet before arriving to the foot of Mont Aiguille in Chichilianne.
