Reopening of Iceland's Borders

Iceland Officially Opens Its Doors to Travelers with a Vaccination Certificate

Indeed, the Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday, March 16, that travelers from the European Schengen Area with free movement who have been vaccinated will be allowed entry into the country.

Vaccination certificates issued by countries in the Schengen Area are accepted. Alternatively, the one issued by the WHO under the name "yellow card" is also accepted.

Furthermore, all vaccinated individuals will not be required to present a negative PCR test or undergo a quarantine period during border control.

Any passenger presenting proof of a Covid19 infection within the last 15 days with a positive test will also not be required to present a negative PCR test or undergo quarantine.

Decisions Aimed at Reviving Visitor Traffic.

That's right! Iceland is one of the first European nations to open the external Schengen borders to nationals from third countries. Iceland hopes to revive visitor flows from the United Kingdom and the United States, which are Iceland's two largest tourism markets. These countries are also among the most advanced in global vaccination efforts.

Iceland is currently in a favorable position concerning COVID19; indeed, the coronavirus incidence rate is currently only 9 per 100,000 inhabitants, and more than 10% of the population has received at least one dose of a vaccine.

So, as you've gathered, if you need a change of scenery for Iceland's peaceful atmosphere and you are vaccinated, it's high time to book your tickets and start planning your trip on the site: https://www.quotatrip.com/.
