  Departure to Akagera

  

  Around 3:00 pm, you will be picked up at your hotel or another indicated point and depart for Akagera National Park to spend the night near the park, outside. On the way: - Sanitary stop at Imigongo Art Center in Kayonza. After checking in at your accommodation, you can enjoy scenic views, take a walk, and explore the nearby area. Accommodation: Akagera Rhino Lodge (3-star hotel) or similar Meal Plan: Dinner on your own Drinks: Mineral water

  Full day wildlife safari in Akagera

  

  After an early breakfast, check in at Akagera National Park for a boat trip on Lake Ihema from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., offering the opportunity to observe aquatic wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles, and a wide variety of bird species. You will then enjoy a full-day game drive from south to north (approximately 7 hours), where you may encounter numerous animal species, including the Big Five (lions, rhinos, elephants, buffalo, and, with some luck, leopards), as well as giraffes, zebras, antelopes, impalas, oribis, bushbucks, the ungainly tsessebe, and the world’s largest antelope, the majestic eland. The drive also offers stunning panoramic views of the park’s rolling hills and wetlands. Lunch will be taken during the visit at Mihindi Café or as a packed lunch. After lunch, continue your safari in the northern part of the park, with a focus on the Kilala Plains area, known for its rich wildlife. You will then return to Kigali and be dropped off at your hotel or another location of your choice. Meal plan: Breakfast (lunch at your own expense) Drinks: Mineral water End of the safari
