    After a drive from Moshi or Arusha, you reach Londorossi Gate for registration and a briefing. From here, you continue to the trailhead and begin your hike through dense rainforest filled with birdlife and monkeys. The walk is calm and steady, ending at Mti Mkubwa Camp after 3–4 hours of trekking. You’ll rest and enjoy dinner, surrounded by forest sounds.

    The trail climbs out of the rainforest into the moorland zone, revealing scenic views of rolling hills and volcanic formations. You pass through Shira 1 Camp before crossing the vast Shira Plateau. The landscape becomes more open, and you start to feel the high altitude. After about 7–8 hours of hiking, you reach Shira 2 Camp with views of Kibo Peak.

    Today’s route takes you higher to help with acclimatization. You ascend gradually to Lava Tower, where you stop for lunch at 4,640m. From there, you descend to Barranco Camp. This “hike high, sleep low” strategy improves your chances of summit success. The route offers dramatic scenery, and the camp is set beneath the impressive Barranco Wall.

    The day begins with a steep climb up the famous Barranco Wall, which looks intimidating but is very doable with steady steps. This day is shorter and perfect for acclimatization, giving you time to rest and enjoy the mountain atmosphere.

    After breakfast, you ascend steadily through rocky terrain to reach Barafu Camp, the final base before summit night. The route is dry and exposed, but the views are wide and dramatic.     Just before midnight, you begin your final climb under the stars. The trail is steep and cold, but with slow steps and determination, you reach Stella Point and then Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After photos and celebration, you descend to Barafu for a short break, then continue down to Mweka Camp for your final night on the mountain.

    After breakfast, you descend through beautiful rainforest trails, passing lush scenery and enjoying your final moments on the mountain. The walk takes about 3–4 hours before reaching Mweka Gate, where you receive your summit certificate. Your driver will be waiting to take you back to Moshi or Arusha for a hot shower and a well-earned rest.
