  Welcome to Bahian Land

  

  Your guide welcomes you at Salvador airport and accompanies you to your hotel, in the historic district of Pelourinho or Santo António, two of the most beautiful and most authentic neighborhoods in the city, with their colorful houses, their cobbled alleys and their timeless atmosphere. The rest of the day is free for your first discoveries: why not a walk through the alleys of Pelourinho, a first acarajé at one of the good addresses we recommended to you, or even a sunset over the Bay of All Saints!

  Salvador: at the roots of Africa

  

  Today, your guide takes you to discover the deep soul of Salvador, a city that is, more than any other in Brazil, the living heart of Afro-Brazilian culture. The morning begins with a walk through the Pelourinho: its baroque churches with colorful façades, its lively squares, and its alleyways that tell five centuries of history, mingled with grandeur and pain. Your guide explains how African heritage has asserted itself here like nowhere else in Brazil, in music, religion, cuisine, and art. You then visit a traditional market, a dive into the smells and colors of Bahian gastronomy, among spices, candomblé herbs, and stalls of tropical fruits. In the afternoon, it’s time for rhythms: a capoeira demonstration, this Brazilian martial art born from the resistance of African slaves, a blend of dance, music, and combat. Then, an introduction to percussion with batucada drums. Salvador is the city of Olodum and Ilê Aiyê, two of the most famous percussion groups in the world, whose rhythms have been making the city’s streets vibrate for decades.

  Heading for the Chapada Diamantina

  

  Take the bus or a flight from Salvador to Lençóis, a small colonial town nestled in the heart of Chapada Diamantina, this mountain range with landscapes of plateaus, canyons, waterfalls and caves, which is one of Brazil's natural jewels. Once you are comfortably settled in your hotel, your guide presents the program for the days to come. Tomorrow, the adventure really begins!

  Hike in the Pati Valley

  

  During these four days, your private guide takes you on one of the most beautiful and wildest hikes in Brazil: the Vale do Pati. This enclosed valley, accessible only on foot, is a concentration of everything the Chapada Diamantina has that is most spectacular: sandstone plateaus in rust colors, waterfalls that plunge into pools of crystal-clear water, unique vegetation, and breathtaking panoramas. Each evening, you sleep with locals, in the simple and welcoming homes of the families who have lived in the valley for generations, far from any road and any hustle and bustle.

  Hike in the Pati Valley

  

  You walk in the heart of spectacular landscapes, between majestic cliffs, unique vegetation and waterfalls. Throughout the day, swimming breaks in pools of crystal-clear water allow you to cool off. The hiking stages were defined during the preparation of your trip in order to adapt to your physical condition and your pace.

  Hike in the Pati Valley

  

  One more day dedicated to exploring the Pati Valley and its most beautiful viewpoints. Between ochre-hued plateaus, lush valleys and wild trails, each stage reveals a different landscape, in the heart of one of the most preserved regions of Chapada Diamantina.

  From the Mountain to the Sea

  

  Today, you leave Chapada Diamantina. Your driver takes you to Valença, where you board a boat bound for Boipeba, a preserved island, without cars, accessible only by sea. The crossing follows a coastline lined with mangroves and coconut trees before dropping you off on this island that seems to have escaped time. Upon your arrival, you settle into your pousada, facing the sea, and enjoy the calm of this little paradise.

  The Natural Pools of Boipeba

  

  Embark on a boat excursion to the natural pools of Boipeba. At low tide, the coral reefs emerge and form magnificent turquoise water pools, home to exceptionally rich marine life. This is the ideal opportunity to go snorkeling among tropical fish, before enjoying a lunch of fresh seafood in a small restaurant, your feet in the sand. In the late afternoon, return to your pousada.

  Boipeba at your own pace

  

  The day is entirely free. Stroll along the island’s unspoiled beaches, go horseback riding on the coastal trails, go paddleboarding in the calm waters of the bay, or simply settle into a hammock facing the sea to savor a coconut water. Boipeba is an island that invites you to slow down, disconnect, and fully enjoy the present moment.

  Back to Salvador and departure

  

  Your trip is coming to an end. You take a short flight to Salvador to reach the international airport in time for your return flight.
